Have not tried the bagged version, but the loose leaf is excellent. One of my favorite Earl Greys!

This is truly a basic Early Grey Tea. But it’s not something I would give to my Grandmother for tea time. The bag exploded when I tried to open it, and the flavors are basic Early Grey. The bergamont is a bit heavy and spicy, but the tea is good when you need a cup of tea. Don’t go out of your way to buy this tea. There’s no point.

My mother-in-law gave us a big box of this to bring with us to Korea. It’s been my saving grace, as I’ve get to find good black tea here. But it’s a bit weak for me. If you have it Persian style, mixed with another kind of spicier black tea, and without milk, then it’s absolutely fantastic.

a very chaotic past week, and a chaotic week again; however, good news - I’m officially in! Not only that, but I was lucky enough to teach (officially)!!! I already taught my first class!!!
knocking back this tea while preparing to have a meeting with the Port of Sines, as we’re discussing other exciting things
I took K S’ advice to heart, and made sure the water was colder on this steep; indubitably the right call!

How exciting! I bet K S is smiling and applauding all your good news right now!

Delicious, but not my favorite. Could use more bergamot flavor. Better with sugar.

Sometimes you just need a solid earl grey! This was one of those mornings.

As “A Gift from London Earl Grey”, but on backside it is written that’s from Ahmad.

And it is just same, soapy, artificial aroma and taste, luckily the base was quite okay.

Ahh, why I thought it will be good idea to start the day with this?

mrmopar

I remember my old friend KS drinking this one a lot.

ashmanra

Yes, mrmopar, this was his “go to” daily drinker! I bought a box after he passed just as a tribute to try one cup, but I passed the rest on to my youngest daughter. She liked it well enough.

Martin Bednář

I know I gave it only 45, but it’s not that bad. Maybe I am just used to another style of EG. Maybe I just need it completely fresh one to taste it well. Maybe…

mrmopar

Gosh no Martin. I just recall KS having a fondness for this one. He ate at Steak and Shake and brought his own teabags if I remember.

ashmanra

Martin – I gave it away because I didn’t like it! I am not a fan of Earl Grey unless the base is rich and dark like a Keemun, but almost everyone uses Ceylon which is already lemony and it just becomes way too tart for me!

Martin Bednář

ashmanra – yeah, I think there are much more interesting bases than Ceylon for Earl Grey. Although some regions can be quite malty as well. Keemun sounds great too!

As a recent convert to tea, I don’t have much experience with other earl greys, so I’ll have to rate this with nothing to compare it to.

I find this tea to be mostly okay. It tastes better in the first few sips when it’s hotter, but the taste gets a bit too strong as it cools down. Not a huge fan of this.

I have the loose leaf version and it has a mellow flavor. It does not have a very strong citrus or bergamot flavor.

A really nice strong taste. Albeit tends to get bitter fast.
