Teca is still tense, but I think she has slightly forgiven me.

I officially have a jury table for my dissertation defense! Every step in this process makes everything much more “real,” which is scary. Then again, I have so much to do that I’m not sure I have the time to worry about that :)

Here’s to drowning in work!

guess who had to go to the vet again!
Teca’s thyroid values were bad, the worst they’ve ever been, so either she’s been spitting out her medication, or there is something much more serious going on
So, back to the vet, blood was drawn, this time for extra tests
the values probably resulted from her spitting out her pills and us not noticing, but considering her age and everything else, I’d rather be safe

vet days always suck, and I have to both calm myself down and try not to fall over sleeping from sheer exhaustion; with the panic the lab results gave me yesterday, work has been getting hectic

so, sipping while working, from home, desperately trying to calm down, stay awake, work, and not panic about everything else happening — july is going to be a busy, busy month

sipping on this while looking at the “work” I did while I unknowingly had COVID — I’m not sure any of this is salvageable! I’d ask “what was I on?” but… yeah, COVID brain fog, checks out
Teca has somewhat forgiven me, or maybe is plotting my demise, she slept by my head

the old lady did NOT behave at the vet!
but her vitals are good, and now we have to wait on the bloodwork
this is both a ‘refresh, take a step, calm down’ and a ‘come on, move at least a little bit’ brew
in part, because Teca screams her little lungs off at the vet, and it’s an overall stressful experience for both of us
on the other hand, I do need to practice my presentation

this tea, however, is as nice as ever

Oh dear! Poor Teca! But I am glad her vitals were good, and proud of her for expressing her emotions. I hope you both can rest, refresh, and recover.

I always tell her that if I could, I’d also yell at the nurse taking my blood! Sadly, as a human, that’s frowned upon :(

stayed home today, as I need to time and rehearse my defense and take Teca (our cat) to the vet
sister in law brewed this for me, which was nice; the brew is cozy, cake-y and a crowd pleaser — definitely will go into my wishlist rotation!

my final steep, and what a lucky one! Somehow, I had exactly 4g left, and that’s exactly the quantity of tea I typically use for the last clean tea bottle I have

Been having terrible sleep (nightmares, back pain, not a lot of hours of sleep as well), so a kick of caffeine is also necessary

Overall, it was nice to have this tea, and I’ll definitely repurchase (just not right now, have a lot of tea to go through)

I am sorry your sleep is deserved! Good sleep is so necessary. It is from your Covid? I think I had some vivid dreams when I had it.

Sofia Vaz

that makes sense! the “leftover” symptoms are messing me up, so the nightmares might be from that as well :)

back at work, hopefully it will go better than yesterday
(does anyone else have colleagues that not only do not work but prevent you from working? I have three, and when they get together it’s hell on earth)

I had missed this! it’s probably the second to last steep I can get out of the tin, but considering how much tea I make every time, I’d say this was a win

will I re-order? probably, but not for some time - I’d really like to get down to only having a couple of teas waiting to be used up, except for teas bought in lieu of special occasions and gifts. Alas, that will take me some time; we shall see

(also, I should update my cupboard on here so it matches my spreadsheet)

well, I sure was hatching something — COVID!
quickly made this in the kitchen (masked, of course) to bring to my bedroom; it’s not the best breakfast there is, but it beats getting my parents sick
this tea is not the worst thing out there, but it’s not really the best as well; I think not using boiling water was a good choice for this, as I can see the leaves burning easily

When you are feeling unwell, “just tea” sometimes is exactly what you need—especially if throat, smell, and taste are on the fritz. Hope you are better and back to the good stuff soon!

ashmanra

Oh dear! I hope it is a very mild case and passes quickly!

Martin Bednář

Get better soon! I hope you will avoid all the consequences as I did!

woke up with a very stuffed-up nose, so the warmth this brings, along with the caffeine, is needed
(might be hatching a fever as well, need to take today easy)

Aw, hope you are quickly on the mend!
