From 52teas

There is nothing like a rootbeer float, especially one made with some real draft rootbeer like they have at A&W. I really hope they don’t sue me for using their image, but when I think of rootbeer floats, that’s all I can think of. If you’ve never had draft rootbeer from an A&W restaurant, you’ve never really had rootbeer. And a rootbeer float from A&W… well, let’s just say there’s a reason I really need to go on a diet.

This special blend of premium black teas, marshmallow root and organic flavors comes close enough to the real thing that for zero calories, I’ll be drinking this all day when I’m not saving calories for the real thing.

I think that this tea is as close to a rootbeer float as a tea can get. The marshmallow is a really nice touch that adds a bit of depth to the flavor. It really gives it that vanilla ice cream flavor. I only had a few sips of it because my husband really enjoyed. Usually when he tries any tea he doesn’t say anything about it but this one he really liked.

On another note: I’m so glad the discussions page is working! I was having withdrawals over the weekend..

Additional notes: Frank’s blend. On the same day I realized that I only have three root beer teas in stock, necessary for cravings. One of them is rooibos. I also was interested in what my favorite David’s teas are after yesterday’s Coconut Cream Pie and it turns out David’s Root Beer Float was my favorite from them, which was surprising. I can hardly remember it now. And this one is now aging… someone better make a delicious Root Beer tea. Now I’m relying on Simpson and Vail!

DT’s Root Beer Float was an insanely good tea – I definitely miss that one! I bought a tin the last time we carried it, but I should have gotten more – it took me no time at all to finish it off. I’ve always had a soft spot for rootbeer teas…

Looking up my tasting note, apparently I tried it four years ago from a teabox. This is why I like teaboxes and why Steepster helps me remember teas. :D

I have never been a fan of rootbeer as I have always found it to taste just awfully artificial. I thought it was because it’s soda. But I guess not. I guess the rootbeer taste is just that because I noticed the same “artificial” note in this tea.

Needless to say, I wasn’t too happy with it. I was hoping for something more gingery, spicy even. But, man, this sure is freakin’ rootbeer soda. Oh, and the “float” part, which I assume should be the ice cream part? I haven’t noticed it.

It has to be said, however, that the base tea tasted really good and was just the right amount of strong. It’s just that the flavoring is not exactly up my alley. I can see someone who is a great rootbeer fan loving this tea to pieces.

I know I should stay away from this one too. Root beer = bleh.

I would still like to try some other rootbeer blends in the future to see if they can taste a little… different.

Um… so… not sure why I tried this, but it sounded like a good idea at the time. Made it iced, I knew it’s an old, old batch (likely two years old), I’ve had issues with all of the older 52 Teas tasting like cardboard. Sadly… this also tasted like cardboard. Root beer flavored cardboard, alas, not for me.

So hard to find this tea on here (didn’t think of spelling it this way).

That is about what I got from the butterbeer. :/

MissB

Yep, I’m about ready to pitch the whole lot of it, and that’s a LOT of tea. :(

Sil

can’t wait to try the new improved blends from liberteas!

This sounds like a tea my brother would love

silvermage2000

What a nice review. This sounds really good.

TeaNTees

I had this today and mine was bereft of any root beer flavour whatsoever. :(

MissB

I think hot most of them have lost their flavoring, but cold it’s still coming through (thankfully). Still, cardboard. :( Sil, I agree!

Dustin

The 52teas Tiramisu tea that I loved so much has lost all it’s delicious flavor. :( I’ll have to try it cold brewed and see if it is salvageable that way.

I’m enjoying this one while listening to the Rushmore soundtrack. I was hoping that this would be a little bit sweeter and with more minty bite, but it’s pretty good as is. The flavoring is at a good level for fast consumption.

I tried this from Travelling Tea Box C. It was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but it delivered a root beer taste as promised.
