From 52teas

Don’t let the silliness of this week’s label fool you. This is a serious tea: Seriously delicious. We’ve combined a premium Yun Wu (Cloud Mist) green tea with marshmallow root and all things lemon for a smooth, refreshing lemony green tea with some extra marshmallowy sweetness added in. Plus, you get a package with this cute kitten on the label!

Our Tea of the Week for the week of June 25, 2012

REBOOT VERSION:

Backlog – sipdown from earlier this week.

I still can’t get over how this smells like lucky charms marshmallows. However, I’m happy I was able to finish this off since I’m running low on tins. If Anne ever decides to reblend this I may restock it, but I’ll probably only get a taster size, rather than the full 2 ounces.

today, at some point, i’m going to be reorganising my cupboard. My tea order from bellocq arrived but i can’t let myself go crazy on those teas until i figure out how “bad” i’m doing with my paris teas lol. this was a sample included in the tea i received from 52 teas – DO NOT LIKE. in all fairness, i don’t love green teas but there was something in this one that reminded me of soap. Generally i’m ok with green and lemon, but something in this one doesn’t love me. the rest is off to the swap box for someone else to love.

Ha, I was wondering if this was really that old or if it was remade recently. Keep killing off those teas, yo.

Note: This is the reblend from the new 52Teas.

Forgot to log this yesterday, so I don’t have temperature information. I think I left the tea ball in, too. Strangely enough, it seems like I didn’t review this the first time I tried it, too.

This is delightful. It’s not a tea I’d be in the mood for all the time (I seem less inclined to citrus flavored teas than others), but it is very nice. It’s very heavy on the lemon, but the lemon is also very well blended with the sweetness. It’s like 60% lemon, 40% marshmallow/sugar/cream in my mouth. Or maybe 20% tea, 40% lemon, 40% sugary creaminess. Perhaps I should try this one with a bit of cream and sugar. I haven’t had good luck with citrus teas and milk (tends to curdle it), but I feel like the milk could enhance this one. Then again, I’ve felt that for a lot of dessert-y teas, and I’m usually pretty content without it. _

Let it be known that this tea has ingredients that I hate, not just a dislike but hate.
I chose it for a reblend pick with the Kickstarter rewards based off of the reviews I read… I was curious. I brewed this up with some hope as I did not see 200% lemongrass to .02% tea like many companies have done. The tea actually smelled alright so I was like, "dang man, maybe the citrus will be a’ight’

With all that being said, I short brewed this to avoid too much of the stuff I dislike coming out into the liquid. The result was a nice drink that I believe might work as an iced beverage as well. The citrus notes are nice in the tea and the base tea was noticeable. So this is actually the first tea I have ever had a positive experience with that included lemongrass… bu remember, as I eluded to, this blend is balanced well.

52Teas

Yay! Thank you very much, that means a lot to hear that you hate some of the ingredients but you still liked the tea alright.

Glad I got my hands on this. 52teas re-opened and now has this in stock.

I’ve been wanting to try it for a while.

Does not disappoint, though I am bummed about no cute kitty packaging.

Warm goodnesssssssss!!!!

EDIT:
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG please always keep this tea in stock. How will I ever LIVE WITHOUT THIS YUMMINESS?!?! Gotta order more.

Enough fan girl gushing. Seriously this may replace Adagio’s Lemon Soleil as my favorite lemon-y tea.

Thank you Momo for the sale! I was a little worried this one would taste the oldest but as far as I can tell… still delicious! The tea design picture if very accurate — lemon sun and marshmallow clouds. It tastes like I’m drinking liquid lemon cotton candy. Very lemon, sweet from the marshmallow root and the base teas are perfect with these flavors. A little tough to tell what the base teas are like with all this flavor, but I’m happy with this one!

Suziqzer

Sometimes it’s good to lose the bas tea :)
