OK, so. I saw this label, and knew that no matter what kind of tea it was for, I had to own it. It has an ADORABLE KITTEN on a bed of MARSHMALLOWS. With a slice of lemon for the sun. You guys. YOU GUYS.

So anyway, I was going to order it no matter what, but I did actually read the description and thought it sounded pretty good. I mean, I wasn’t really sure about the marshmallow with the lemon, but I have been dying to find a yummy, lemony green tea lately, so I was more than willing to give it a go.

And then it arrived — after my order of Butterbeer. And let me tell you, Steepster, I have finished an entire pouch of Butterbeer already. And I only gave a very small amount to my tea drinking pal because it was incredible and I didn’t want to share. So I haven’t really been drinking anything else at home, and I don’t do loose tea at work after my first attempt because of the mess factor.

So I didn’t try this tea until just now. Things to know:

1. It smells like dessert. I guess it’s the marshmallow pile adding even more yum to the lemon sunshine, but oh gosh does this smell great. And I can’t really separate the scent of the tea, but I can tell it’s there. I want to just, I don’t know, eat the leaves or something.

2. It tastes like dessert. It seriously lives up to the smell. The handful of lemony greens I’ve tried so far have been pretty unimpressive, so I was a bit nervous going into this, but it’s just the right lemon to tea ratio, and the marshmallow adds a sweet note that mellows the lemon’s sharpness a little and ties everything together beautifully.

3. I’m terrified to try more 52teas blends because WHAT IF THEY ARE ALL THIS DELICIOUS??? What if I have to start ordering all my tea in wholesale amounts!? I could drown and/or be buried in delicious tea — AND I’M OK WITH THAT.

But seriously, this blend is so amazing and I give it all of the thumbs up.

I love the cute little kitten on the label of this tea, and I smiled as I was opening the packet. The dry tea smells very strongly of lemon, almost like a creamy lemon aroma from a lemon cake. The color of this brewed tea is a pretty pale (almost clear) yellow. The flavor is very light also, with only a wispy touch of lemon present. It is much better with sweetener, which brings out some of the marshmallow flavors. Overall, a very light and delicate tea. I can imagine I would enjoy this best during the summer, as it is very refreshing.

-Dry blend has medium size green tea leaves and pieces of white marshmallow root and lemongrass.
-Dry leaves smell like lemon cake. Tea liquor aroma is faintly of creamy lemon.
-Tea liquor is a clear pale yellow color.
-Soft lemon flavor with a smooth finish.
-Best with sweetener.
-Very good tea. Delicate lemon cake flavor.

This is from way back on Day 3 of the twelve teas of X-mas.

Everyone else seems to love this tea but I only found it to be okay. The green tea/lemon combination was a bit too harsh in this instance and together with the marshmallow (which is rather faint) gave the tea an odd, slightly chemical taste that doesn’t do to much for me, I’m afraid. I’ll mess around with the steeping parameters a bit with what’s left of my sample to see if matters improve.

February 2022 Reblend

Always a joy to drink this one again, and sad when I finish it up. I’m glad it’s so popular because it means this isn’t a permanent farewell (also, there’s still some available.. hmm, tempting).

KITTEN!! I want to squish it and love it. That is all.

This blend smells delicious! I am smacked in the face with lemony goodness upon opening the packet. There is a sweetness to it as well, which reminds me of lemon drops or lollipops.

Flavoured greens are really hit or miss for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I think I oversteeped my cup though, at 3 min. Sigh. It’s a sliiiiight bit bitter, but thankfully it didn’t kill my cup. The bright, fresh lemon is the first flavour I get, followed by a bit of grassiness, and then finally rounded out by the marshmallow creaminess at the end. I love that it’s something a little different than your standard lemon/citrus green. The marshmallow root really makes it special.

LiberTEAS

LOL your first line reminds me of the Looney Tunes episode where the abominable snowman finds a “little bunny rabbit” and he will love it and hug it and squish it … haha!

made me think of elmyra: "I’m gonna hug you and kiss you and love you forever….

Haha YES to both of those..exactly what I thought of after I typed it!

On the 3rd day of Christmas…

Okay, so my friend Kim and I are a day behind. Hoping to catch up this evening with Earl Black.

At first sip, this reminded me of Adagio Teas Lemon Cloud Rooibos. It has a very similar flavor. I can definitely taste the lemongrass. Green tea is not my favorite, but this was enjoyable. The more I sipped it, the more I could taste the grassy flavor of the green tea.

3 min too long a steep for me. Try 2.5 min next time. Still, not ruined but prefer less bitter tea. I do love the additives in this. The flavors stay with you for a while after you drink it.

I had meant to do this review ages ago, but I am a procrastinator…..lol. This tea was not what I expected. Even though I try to avoid expectations, I couldn’t help but form them with this tea. One reason why I generally prefer to avoid reading reviews for something til after I’ve tried it. I expected it to be light fluffy lemon flavored clouds that was just over the border of sweet. Not quite. I don’t know maybe it has to do with my Sugar taste buds gauge, but I needed a lot of sweetener. It isn’t terrible tea, and maybe it was the wrong choice considering my lack of experience with green tea, not to mention I’m alittle bit weird when it comes to lemons and lemon flavored things anyways. At any rate, I liked enough that I will have no trouble finishing it, and would probably order it again, to have for times when I want something that is quiet and uncomplicated. (No not intended as a backhanded compliment!)
Grrrr. I tried editing the tasting note I added a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t really access the bottom portion…luckly I thought to copy and paste this.

I didn’t care for this one hot. It was a little too plain lemon green tea for me, but cold brewed, it’s awesome. The fluffiness comes out a bit more, and the mild bitterness I got when it was hot goes away.

Lynxiebrat

Hmm I will do that next time I want this tea. Good thing I do like cold drinks year around.

Yummy! It’s as good as all the reviews say. I did 3 minutes on my first steeping and 2.5 on the second. I think I’ll lower it by 30 seconds next time to cut out the tiny bit of bitterness I got from it. It’s so much more than a lemon green tea. It’s just as fluffy and sweet as the little kitten on the label.

I’ve put the used leaves in a pitcher to cold brew over night and will report back on how it does.
