23 Tasting Notes
I got this as a sample in my last Bluebird order & decided to risk a full sized bag this time around. This smells incredible & tastes even better… Tart rhubarb balanced perfectly with sweet custard goodness, yum! I find it gets even sweeter towards the bottom of the cup; I had to double check I hadn’t added any sugar. Second steep is equally as yummy! My mum loves this too, so I can’t see the bag lasting too long..!
Preparation
Got this as part of my Verdant 5 for $5 pack, tried it tonight as I wanted something light that didn’t need too much fuss. I love jasmine tea so I have high hopes for this!
The tea is very pale, a beautiful champagne colour. Lots of delicate flavour, very floral yet not overwhelmingly ‘perfume’ as some jasmine teas can be. There is a definite sweetness to the aftertaste too. Just off to attempt a third steep, am hopeful it will hold up well! I think I will try the rest of my sample in my gaiwan… I’m still getting to grips with it & I think this tea will work perfectly!
Preparation
I came home sick from work today to find that my first 52teas order had arrived! I contemplated waiting until my stuffy nose had cleared, but finally decided I couldn’t wait any longer & brewed up a cup of this.
Ooooo, the smell is buttery & definitely pancakes! The flavour is equally as tasty- rich & syrupy & positively yummy. I was worried the black tea would be astringent but it isn’t at all. I added some sugar & a splash of milk because I was in definite need of an extra comforting cup! The pancake flavour is more subdued on the second steep, but the tea is still smooth & tasty.
Glad I took a chance on this one!
