drank Peach Tranquility by Teavana

I have been wanting to replace my 2 formerly favorite bagged teas with loose leaf versions. I know I won’t get it exactly, but enough that I don’t miss not having the bag version. (Perfect Peach and Mint Medley by Bigelow.) So with that in mind, I picked up the Peach Tranquility by Teavana.
Now generally, if a tea doesn’t WOW! me (like Zingiber Ginger Coconut.) Then I’m not going to want to get it. However, though this tea did not wow me, I did like it enough that I not only willing to pair it with some of the teas I already got, but possibly might be willing, (in another 2 weeks, with payday.) get something that the Teavana site suggests would be a good pairing. Not to mention do the standard like fiddle with the water temp and steep time.
With Teavana teas I actually grab the kettle right before it boils, or try to, you know, someone compared this to a while tea, I wonder if maybe that temp would work better. Will add to this later if I find a successful and happy pairing, etc.. On a happier note, I bought more Zingiber Ginger Coconut!

drank Wild Orange Blossom by Teavana

I love, no adore the smell of most citrus, especially oranges! I tried this tea combined with the Youthberry at the closest Teavana store, and wow! was blown away. Unfortunately, the Youthberry alone was more then I wanted to spend on tea, let alone with the Wild Orange Blossom, so I just got the Orange. Even though it was a blisteringly hot day when I got home, I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist trying it out.
Sighs
Sadly, as great as it smells, the taste is quite boring. I even tried it combined with some other teas that I got, hoping that would perk it up some…..meh. It was drinkable, but not beyond that. (And yes the other teas that I used was Teavana.)

I buy from 2 tea shops semi regularly, (Not as often as I would like, sad face) and the shop where I got this tea, they do not make it/prepare it, so I am not sure where the owner got it, but til I find out otherwise I will assume that it is this one.

OMG! This was the 1st loose tea that I have had in years, (that I’ve bought.) and it is simply wonderful. If you love Orange Creamsicles, then this tea is for you! I put some equal in mine because I cannot taste sweet very well, but try it without any sweetener 1st. This is also delicious as an Iced Tea.

Just bought this tea today. Actually was looking for ROT’s Pink Lady, but did not see it at the 1 local store I know that carries this brand.

Pros: Light. Unassuming. Not heavily Lemony.
Cons: Too light. needed to much sugar to sweeten it.

Given the price, I plan on trying this flavor with different steep times to see if that changes my assessment of it. If I don’t discover a better steep time, then the rest I will use for making iced tea, and won’t buy it again.

I was so disappointed with this tea. But I think with the fact that even though I like the idea of dessert teas, I do not like the ones with chocolate or caramel in it. However, I think I would of liked this more if the strawberry stood out more. Not so much the apple, because while I love eating apples, I’m generally not fond of cooked apples or juice/cider,etc..) The flavor does not seem rounded out/balanced, enough for me. If I am going to have a complex/multi flavored tea, then balanced out it has to be. I still have a fair amount left, so will try different steep times, and maybe different water temps. But I’m not going to hold my breath on it.

I’ve noticed a few people mention the pushiness of the Teavana Sales Associates, and not saying I don’t believe them, (Generally have had my fair share of pushy associates.) But the 5 times that I’ve been to my nearest Teavana’s the SA’s have been friendly, helpful but not pushy. Easygoing in the 3 I’ve met so far too.

So far, the Zingiber Ginger is my favorite tea from Teavana’s. I’m looking forward to getting more, because I am almost out! In fact I am brewing some right now, wanted to try adjusting steep time to see if more flavor kicks in, I think I’ll try for 8 minutes………
Also going to either try and grab the water before it beeps, (variable temp elec kettle.) or let it come down a bit before pouring……
OK, back. Results: It tastes creamier, like not quite as blunt, which is not bad, but can’t say I really like it that way, unless I am drinking it instead of hot cocoa. Ahh well.

Bio

Currently 46 years old…

Been a tea lover for most of my life, though it’s only in the past? (5-8 years.) That I’ve been drinking loose leaf tea.

I like mostly blended teas in Black, White, and some Oolong. Sadly not much Green tea that I really like. And of course Herbal.

Rating Guide that I use, though I am not terribly consistent;)

100 Excellent
90-99 Very Good
70-89 Fair
50-69 The only teas that I am interested in in this rating are teas that I can buy locally, such as at a grocery store, fruit market, tea shop, etc. Or is fairly cheap/add on thru a website.
50 and Below No redeeming qualities whatsoever or is too much like a tea that I already have.

Some teas such as Constant Comment by Bigelow I still drink on occasion, it is one of my comfort teas from when I was growing up. Others are Perfect Peach, Mint Medley and Cozy Chamomile.

I am a bookworm, though I also enjoy art journaling/mixed media, making jewelry, spending waaaaaay to much time online…particularly bingeing various tv shows on Netflix and Hulu. Also various forums like this one (On and off.) Quora, Goodreads, Youtube and misc. others. If you see the nicknames Lynxiebrat/Lynxiegrl,Lynxiedove, Zaaron or Sarikcat, then drop me a message:)
