150 Tasting Notes
In order to get the most apple-y flavor out of this tea, you need boiling water, 2 heaping teaspoons, and 4-5 minutes.
This is a warm, apple cinnamon tea with a bit of dryness. A pinch of honey really helps with that dry feeling and brings out the fruit. Great for winter afternoons.
Preparation
Another freebie from Lupicia.
This was a teabag, so I had no idea what kind of tea is was, other than “black,” but when I tasted it, I immediately knew there had to be some Darjeeling involved. Glad to see this vindicated!
This tea has an almost sweet aftertaste, kind of like honey. It’s bold and would go great with milk. I’d drink this for breakfast.
So the first time I had this, I wasn’t impressed, but I know a lot more about making loose tea now, so it’s improved with every subsequent cup.
I’d say you need at least 1 heaping teaspoon per 8-10 ounces to really get a solid sweet caramel flavor. The caramel is sweet but not cloyingly so, making this a nice treat at the end of a day.
Preparation
This was a tough one! It smells amazingly peachy in the bag, but it took me a long time to figure out how to brew this, since the ginger comes out a ton when steeped sometimes.
I’d really advise trusting the blender’s recommendation on this one: no more than 2 minutes, tops. Tea brews up to a reddish brown color, tastes like fruity ginger. I’m not sure if I’d order this again, but once you manage to pin down how you like this to taste, it’s smooth and pleasant.
Preparation
Having a cup of this before I give a friend the rest of my sample. Though not because I didn’t like it – I just want to share!
I feel like this is a really balanced tea. I love lemon, and would happily drink teas that make my mouth pucker up, but this is mildly tart citrus flavor with a sweet and smooth aftertaste. You can still tell it’s a green tea, which I appreciate. Very easy to drink.
Preparation
Being on the run constantly this week, I naturally forgot my tea mug at home this morning, so to Starbucks I went.
Honestly I picked Zen out today just because I definitely needed that word in my life right now. I’ve had it before and think it’s decent.
It’s not a very strong green tea taste. Without looking at the ingredients I could tell that there was spearmint and lemon verbena in this. The actual tea is very background, so it’s more of a lemony mint taste on a light green taste. A good cup if you want something refreshing and calm.
Preparation
The tea leaves themselves are really fruity in the bag. Brewed, it tastes like pomegranate and apricot and the smell really tones down. So far, one of my favorites of Meg’s Teen Wolf blends, though I still might prefer Snark Nerdy to Me over this.
I don’t usually sweeten my tea, but just a dot of honey on the bottom of the cup makes this amazing.
Preparation
Like most of Adagio’s other holiday teas, this smells amazing as it steeps. I’m not sure what the flavor is, though. It’s not bad – no strange aftertaste, no weird chemical taste. I’d say it’s a little nutty and a bit chocolate-y -which, ha, would make you think I should be rating this higher. Alas, this is a decent cup, but I’m not rushing to get more.
