Wow, this smells amazing. To me it smells like vanilla ice cream. A friend smelled it and said it smelled fruity and sure enough, when I looked at the label, it said it contained orange.

Really interesting tea. The first pot I had was smooth vanilla (steeped 4 mins) and the second was a nice citrus-y oolong.

This was today’s sample at the Bleecker St store. Very vanilla but the rooibos is so strong. Not for me unfortunately.

Had a cup of this at the Bleecker St store in NYC. Added agave but this tea didn’t really need it. A very delicious and full tasting blend and you can definitely taste the cake and icing. I already have too many dessert teas but I may eventually add this to my collection.

Breaking in my new TARDIS teapot (pictured here: http://twitter.com/SymphonicLens/status/294951902297329664/photo/1 ) with a pot of this!
I’m also simultaneously breaking in a gungfu pot with some of DAVIDsTEA’s Vanilla Orchid. Lots of yummy tastes happening right now.
I’m going to be up for a long time and I have work in the morning. Whoops!

Damn. This one is spicy, which is just what I look for in a chai. It’s so spicy that whenever I open the tin, I sneeze. Yeah, damn.

I was very wary about any of the teas from Metropolitan Tea Company after a disastrous encounter with their Cookies & Cream black tea. This tea, however, surprised me. I steeped 2 tsp in about 300ml of water (accidentally overleafed, whoops!) for 2 mins (I know it says 2m15s on the Steep Time dealy, ignore that, I just have no idea how to use it properly on my iPad) and added a tsp of honey to my cup. It’s still a little bitter, which is what I’ve come to expect from MTC.

I wish I had a milk substitute so I could make a proper chai with this. With most chais I’ve tried, I’ve found they lose quite a bit of their spice when milk is added but this one would still pack a wallop, I think.

Bio

I’m a queer lady in my late twenties who loves cats, comic books, travel, and photography. I fell in love with tea in late 2011. My “tea corner” is now threatening to overthrow the kitchen! I’m the worst at writing so I’m sorry about the babbling messes my reviews will most likely be.

DAVIDsTEA was my first introduction to loose leaf tea and I’ve remained pretty loyal to them (especially since they’re a Canadian company so their shipping price isn’t ridiculous and delivery is speedy!) I’ve recently ventured into teas by 52teas, Della Terra Teas and the Metropolitan Tea Company.

The first teas I really enjoyed were dessert ones (and I still overloaded them with sugar, blech!). I still like them but now I’m trying to get into less-sugary teas. I loooooove me a good genmaicha and have a weakness for most oolongs.
