drank Carol by Lupicia
3226 tasting notes

I bought two 50 gram bags of Carol in late November and it wasn’t enough. Lesson learned.
This is a favorite of Ashman’s but there was only one teaspoon left so I finished it for breakfast this morning. Fortunately, Frasier is similar and nearly (but not quite) as good, and I have some of that I can make for him.

Carol is strawberry, vanilla, coconut, and rose petals and the strawberry part is much purer and smoother than their plain strawberry tea, which I do usually like but it has a really weird smell sometimes. The coconut is almost undetectable for me. I do not notice much floral, either, but the rose petals are gorgeous and rose usually makes tea taste sweeter to me even when it doesn’t impart a lot of floral taste and it could be that the coconut is mostly smoothing and sweetening this without being too oily or heavy.

This might be our favorite Lupicia tea of all time, but I have only tried about ten or so of their blends.

Once again, I came on here excited to click “remove from cupboard” only to discover I hadn’t added it to cupboard….along with about fifty other teas. Sigh.

I’ll have to try this one again next Christmas, I remember being underwhelmed by it…

It may just be a difference in taste! We love it since we can’t get Anna’s Blend from Teageschwendner anymore.

Sakura Sushi

Same for me re the coconut and rose. Glad they’re undetectable because I don’t think either flavor would benefit the overall taste of the tea if they were more “there.” I always get lots of Carol and White Christmas as soon as they become available – they seem to sell out quickly the last year or two. I remember being able to wait until Lupicia had their after holiday sale so I could buy more – no longer!

All the seasonal teas seem to sell out almost instantly now that the US website is managed by Hawaii… They must not get much stock?

ashmanra

I agree, Cameron! I had received a sample years ago and tried to order as soon as I tried it but it was already sold out. I ordered the day it was announced last year and will again this year!

Sakura Sushi – I haven’t tried White Christmas but I looked it up and it sounds like it might need to go on my list! And I agree about Carol, I don’t think my husband would like this nearly as much if the coconut was stronger!

I second the recommendation on White Christmas! Probably my favorite of the holiday teas. I also enjoy Cache-Cache if you like peach teas.

I do like peach teas! And I plan to place an order soon, so hopefully it will be in stock!!

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fourteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
