Small Big Traveling Tea Box

I love root beer floats. They are so delicious and creamy and I could eat them every single day in the summertime. So needless to say, I was so excited to try this tea!

This tea has root beer but not really any float. I don’t mind so much, though. I can’t drink soda pop because the carbonation makes my eyes stingy and watery.. so this will be a great alternative for me:D very close to a spot on root beer, just missing a bit of the float. I’m so tempted to throw in a bit of vanilla ice cream in here… :D mm, hello summertime:]

Just make an affogato but with this tea instead of espresso! :P

YES! That sounds amazing!… I just checked, we don’t have any vanilla ice cream! Bummer, might have to run to the store later today:P

The leaves of this tea smells like hay to me. Haha. But, luckily, lemon is the strongest flavor of this tea. I would suggest sipping it rather than taking larger gulps… the smaller the sips, the more lemon and the less grassy flavor you get.

I can’t say that this tea really strikes me as a Green Apple Tea… It tastes more like a green tea with the slightest flavoring of apple. So maybe green tea with apple is a bit more of an apt name. This tea is alright, just not what I was expecting.

Okay, who stole me from Seattle and put me on a tropical island?! This tea is sooo pineapple-y and coconut-y, I can hardly handle it. Seriously, I feel like I am drinking a Pina Colada. So delicious. And something even more awesome, this tea is from a tea shop not too far away from here! Thank you, EvaGrimm for including this tea, you’ve introduced me to a new semi-local tea shop:D

Mm. There are so many flavors in this tea. There is a freshness from the lemon, sweetness from the vanilla, tranquility from the chamomile, and cooling from the mint. Wow. Way more flavors than I was originally expecting. Yep, I could definitely picture myself drinking this while watching the sun set tonight:]

What is this, a gingerbread tea? Oh man, you honestly can’t expect me to keep my hands off this one. Talk about a perfect seasonal treat! It smells strongly on ginger and cinnamon…now I want to bake some cookies:P tehehe..

I don’t know how they accomplished it, but it has the lovely baked flavor that you would find in an actual gingerbread cookie!! The tea leaves smell much sweeter than the tea actually is…which I do really appreciate. Gingerbread cookies are so delicious in their own right, they do not need to be slathered in icing and this is what the tea captures. I added a bit of milk to my tea and mmmm, gingerbread in a cup!

This tea has a wonderfully strong scent of cinnamon and spices. It is warm and cinnamony with a light touch of oolong and sweet orange. It reminds me of the transition from summer to fall. Gorgeous. I don’t know that I would go out and buy a cup of this, but I’m enjoying it so much while it is here.

This is the last tea from the box that I need to review—Wow, what an adventure. I’ve experienced teas that I never thought I would like that I have loved and teas that I thought I’d love that just weren’t my cuppa. So much fun. Thank you madametj for arranging this wonderful tea box and for allowing me to join^.^!

There was a note on this tea by Marzipan to try this tea iced. I was nervous-it’s entirely hibiscus… but hey, I trust Marzipan’s opinion. And she knew what she was talking about! I tried a sip of this while it was hot- and oh gosh, so tart my lips squeezed in!.. So I waited for it to cool…added some ice…and took a sip. Still super tart. But upon adding agave…yum! It tastes like a mix between lemonade and fruit punch! So much better than I was expecting^.^ Really, if you guys are in this box, do try it!

This tea smells amazingly like mango. And it definitely has a lot more flavor than the last tea that I was drinking. I really do like this tea but the mango flavor tastes artificial to me.. The rooibos in this tea is not barky, either ( you know you have been spending a good amount of time with dogs lately when you type “barky” and start to giggle because you picture your tea cup barking at you every time you try to take a sip… xD). Over all, a nice flavorful rooibos.

Herbal Traveling Tea Box

Today was hiking Sunday! :D Today we went on a long, gorgeous hike that had nine separate waterfalls… man, do I love Washington. Hiking through the extravagantly green old growth forest and listening to the rivers rush is most certainly serene. I picked this tea to start out my last bit of the Herbal Traveling Tea Box marathon because I knew that it would continue that serene feeling… and it does!^.^

This tea is really quite light with a taste of fennel and cardamon. It is odd for me to have the flavor of fennel in a tea instead of a soup, but this tea does it nicely. The aftertaste has a little bit of a cooling effect for me. I don’t know why it does this but it is sure fun! :D A delicious light tea for those serene days—or maybe those days where you need serenity. :]

Flavors: Cardamom, Fennel

Glad you had a peaceful day, sounds wonderful!
Totally my kind of Sunday :-)

albertocanfly

Thank you! I had a very social Friday and Saturday—more than normal—so it was really nice!
I hope your Sunday is lovely as well :]

TheTeaFairy

Lol, yes I remember reading your post about the party! Hiking in nature is a good cure:-)
My Sunday was wonderful, chores in the morning, books and tea in the afternoon…

albertocanfly

Most definitely! Nature, exercise, and tea cures most ailments for me:]
That does sound wonderful:]! Books and tea pair so nicely :]

Tea is a new hobby of mine. The crazy amount of available teas is amazing and I’m just now wetting my toes. One of my favorite parts about teas is sharing it with my friends and family.. It is the best when you finally discover a tea that a “tea hater” loves. For me, tea is a bit of happiness in a mug and I’m always willing to explore.

Besides tea, I’m a scientist who adores long hikes in the mountains, dancing around the house listening to the Beatles (and other wonderful bands), and playing with my dog. Life is a beautiful thing that deserves to be explored and cherished.

I will try any tea at least once and my palate is continually changing as I delve deeper in the tea world, but these are my current preferences:
-Herbal
-Rooibos
-Interesting flavors (root beer float, ice cream cake, etc.)
-Fruity
-Nutty

And I would love to try a purple tea… :]

Shall we explore together?:]
