15082 Tasting Notes
so for starters, I accidentally steeped this for about 10-15 mins. Then, i forgot that the reason i’d picked this one was because it’s supposed to be spicy. yeah guess what.. IT IS! jeeebus lol this is spicy holy shit.. like.. omg. ow. i’m going to have to try making this again tomorrow but shorter steep time with some honey. Because maaaaan….Miss B and omgsrsly, i dunno how you drink this! loving it…but HOLY MAN short-er steep times for sure!
thanks for sharing this one with me VariaTEA this one wasn’t as delicious as i thought it would be. the chai like sort of thing sounded really nice. However something about the flavour combination just isn’t jiving for me. at least i got to try it though! thanks VT!
Another one from MissB this is apparently all the joy and fun i get today since once again i am stuck at home with work while my other half gets to go out with friends. I’m so upset i could just sit and cry. I spent all of today working so that i could go out this afternoon and tomorrow and now, thanks to work, i’m now here while our friends have picked up my other half and left. Even if i get away from this testing with technology, it’ll take me 90 mins just to join them so there’s hardly a point at this rate.
This tea is quite nice, though i’m not sure where the blueberry taste it. There’s a lovely lemon taste here, but if i hadn’t read memily’s review i wouldn’t have even known there was supposed to be blueberry here. This is just coming across as a REALLY earthy puerh with lemon flavouring in the background. I really wish the lemon were stronger here, and i can see this being really offputting for anyone who doesn’t like puerh. Thanksfully, though i enjoy puerh and i’m still enjoying this cup, though i wish it was more lemoney…and uh i guess blueberry too since i can’t taste any of that lol
Ditch work and teleport over here for cuddles, silly movies, and tea. If I had company I might even find motivation to make cookies or something.
mmmmm another tea from YYZ Now while i stand fast in that green teas generally aren’t my favourite tea, i DO admit there are a fwe out there that i love. This falls in to that category as this is a deliciously great green tea. it’s got a sweet green bean taste to it and there’s none of that after taste that sometimes hangs around with some green teas. This is just a really solid tea. Again, probably not going to stock it since i never drink greens with any speed but this would fall to the top of my list if i were going to :) thanks a bunch YYZ!
Preparation
I adore this one too..so much that I am willing to brave taobao to restock it. Green teas are the main part of tea production whereas as black teas are still seen to be experimental. A lot of companies have not yet produced black teas this year. Whether this was because of lower yields due to drought or just the level of demand for the green tea I don’t know.
I’m really glad you liked this one!
thanks for sending this my way VariaTEA another one i haven’t tried. As far as teas go, this one is alright. I’d be hard pressed to call this rhubarb though. it’s more a generic green fruity tea to me…still nice enough but not really rhubarb or meringue.
Another from MissB i have to say this was was pretty pleasant. I think i like bayswater’s version just a little more, but not with a huge degree of conviction lol. This has got some great caramel/vanilla notes in it and even as it cooled it maintained that delicious taste. happy to have tried this one! thanks missb!
Another from YYZ this one is a malty delicious cup of goodness lol. It reminds me of a tea that i can’t place. It’s got a great feel to this one in the mouth and the after taste is wonderful. I am really digging this one today! It’ not bitter, not astringent and there’s a subtle sweetness to this one in the background without being a sweet cup of tea.
This is an awesome review. You had me at, “this is spicy holy shit.” LOL I really want to try this now!
haha i’m had this before and it was really nice with a much smaller kick but brewing it for that long kicked my ass haha
I added it to my wishlist :p
I am CACKLING. I was so scared of JustJames’s review, and MissB’s comments about it being kinda spicy, that I only steeped 2 min. I’ll do up to 5, but no more! And I find a bit of honey helps with the heat. It’s great if you’re stuffed up.
i’m thinking 2-3 is my happy spot lol 20 mins…not so much hahaha
:D
