thanks for sending this my way VariaTEA another one i haven’t tried. As far as teas go, this one is alright. I’d be hard pressed to call this rhubarb though. it’s more a generic green fruity tea to me…still nice enough but not really rhubarb or meringue.

VariaTEA

It had 2 meringue pieces in the whole bag of 50g :(

I couldn’t find steeping directions on Steepster so I went with my normal green steeping parameters of wait five minutes for water to cool, and steep 2 minutes.

This is a nice green tea, but I’m really not getting much rhubarb. The base is nice, so that’s a plus, since that’s essentially all I taste. There is a creaminess to it, though that could just be the base itself.

After Fru P’s Rhubarb Green, this one is not so impressive.

Thanks for sharing Roswell Strange!

Thank you VariaTEA! I don’t drink many green teas, but I enjoyed this one last night. It was a nice creamy rhubarb with a pleasant green base and the cup didn’t last long enough for me to properly review it!

That and our massive combined Lupicia order was distracting me. :/

:) I’m happy I was able to try this though! I should drink more greens.

ETA I accidentally logged this as strawberry meringue. Thanks, VariaTEA for pointing that out!

VariaTEA

I should give you the rest of this one as I am not really a lover of it.

TeaLady441

We could trade something for it? :)

VariaTEA

I would say that is not necessary since I have so much tea but that is like the pot calling the kettle black in this situation given you have even more :P. If you would prefer to trade, we can do that too but I am happy just giving it to you.

TeaLady441

Hahah. Well I’d love to take it. And you know my cupboard is always open…

VariaTEA

Awesome and thank you :)

Sipdown (174/178)!

Wow, look at that sipdown progress! I’m starting feel less fearful about my Red Leaf/52Teas orders arriving and any incoming swaps!

Thanks a bunch VariaTEA for the sample of this! It’s the second green from your giant package of them that has really surprised me with how good it is. For the prep I, of course, cold brewed last night while I slept. So, it cold brewed for a pretty good nine or so hours – potentially closer to eight.

Basically it’s a light green that leans towards a more buttery kind of quality – with a very creamy but somewhat generic fruitiness to it. And the fruitiness is strong and potent – just not abundantly “rhubarb”. I would maybe venture to call it somewhat more strawberry like. It’s very good though and I’m quite happy and content drinking it.

I don’t know if I’d want to buy this in any sort of quantity for myself – but I wouldn’t pass it up if offered in a swap or just served to me in general. I’m actually pretty curious how it would fair hot…

This is interesting to me. I was in Cornelia Bean on the weekend (bought WAY too much tea). I chose Frisky Rhubarb tisane rather than this one. Wonder if it is going to be generic fruit rather than rhubarb. Will have to check it out soon.

VariaTEA

I have plenty more to share. And Dexter, I can always toss some in the box for you to try :)

Dexter

Thank you. I am so in denial about the box. I exploded my cupboard this weekend (14 at Cornelia Bean plus 7 from Davids), then I received a swap packages (that I haven’t entered into my cupboard yet) and I have more inbound (why do I do this to myself?). LOL I can’t think about the box…..

VariaTEA

Hahaha the box is slowing down my sipdowns which is sad but came just as I decided to explore straight blacks so that worked out well.

Dexter

(Memo to self – VariaTEA is exploring straight blacks, you should take a look at what she’s tried and then send her some that she might have missed…)

VariaTEA

Hahaha. Oh Dex, that is quite frightening coming from you :P. Luckily, I don’t think you have my address. Wait. Nvm. Now I really am scared.

Dexter

LOL I definitely do have your address – but don’t be scared my friend, I will only send you a few of my “the best of the best” and only ones that you haven’t tried. :))

My friend asked me which teas have I not tried. This was one of the few that I have yet to taste so I brewed some up for us to try. Personally, I far prefer the Strawberry Meringue as I am finding the flavors in this to be muted. The base is buttery and it is definitely the most prominent element. I am not really detecting much rhubarb though and the meringue only seems to be present as a slight sweetness in the cup despite two meringue bits being in the steeper. All in all, this won’t be a restock but it is not bad.

Sil

interesting!
