Surprisingly, I haven’t review this yet. Was pretty sure I had.

Anyway, there is a kinda roasted grain scent. I also get a bit or toast or nuts. The flavour reminds a bit of houjicha, except more mild. It has that similar nutty taste. Got the sample because it sounded interesting, and it turned out pretty good.

Another tea I picked up for travel. At first, it has a nice malt scent. Once brewed, it is very… bold. There are a few different teas in this blend, but I mostly get Assam flavours. Which is normally something I like, but comes across a little too strong here.

Picked this one up from one of the local markets. I’d originally planned to get this for a road trip. It has a very mild bergamot scent. There really isn’t much in the flavour either. Does seem like something I’d have while traveling.

Sample sipdown. Having a mug while catching up on Downton Abbey. The rose scent is very nice. And there is of course, some bergamot. Then there is chocolate from the base. Flavour- the rose and citrus go really well together. I rather like floral grey blends. And this makes for a very good afternoon tea.

" The studio was filled with the rich odor of roses, and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac, or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn."- The Picture of Dorian Gray

Since I finally decided to read the novel, this seemed like a good pairing. There is a nice scent of bergamot and apples, with some sweetness. The flavour is a nice citrus, and caramel notes. It is a good tea for the winter months.

Picked this up from the local shop. I don’t think I’ve ever had a huckleberry. Except maybe as a jam. It smells nicely fruity. A little like blueberries. The taste is also similar, but slightly more tart. Would probably be really good iced.

A long, long time ago… in a tea mug far away. I got this while on snowy planet with fellow Resistance member Stephanie. It smells so nicely like chocolate and mint. When, I first brewed, there was more of cocoa scent. There are only mild notes of mint in the flavour. As it cools, I get more of a puer taste. Not sure how it compares to a grasshopper pie (hard to come by on this planet), but it’s pretty good.

May the Force be with you.

Happy Birthday to Professor Tolkien!

This tea seems like something Hobbits might have. Had some with first breakfast (oatmeal and fruit). It has a nice malty scent and flavour. Has a somewhat bold taste too.

And I have a strong notion that the Hobbits would add a bit of wildflower honey to it like I would. :)

Lariel of Lórien

I do have tea honey.

I must give tea honey a try. I normally use orange blossom, clover or wildflower honey depending on the tea. Could you recommend a good tea honey and where I might purchase some? I’ll take honey every time over sugar to sweeten my tea!

From the Phi tea box. Smells nice… I mostly got lavender in the dry leaf, with more mint when it was brewed. And now it has a soothing scent. The flavour is very herbal. It’s mostly a mint tea with some lemon notes.

First tea note of the New Year. Happy 2016. Since it was too snowy to go anywhere, I am home with tea and books. Got this tea from the other local shop. Because there was a sale. Smells nicely like bergamot. There is a mild citrus flavour, and base tea is kinda dark. At least, it does when first brewed. More bergamot flavour comes out as it cools.

Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus
