13 Tasting Notes
When I realized I could no longer get the green tea with coconut and ginger at White August Tea (they closed) I went searching for a similar tea. That’s when I came upon LuxBerry Tea. This tea is FANTASTIC! Drink it hot… drink it iced…both are great. It’s a chinese sencha green tea. I’ve always had Japanese sencha. I found that this Chinese sencha was just as light and smooth, but not quite as naturally sweet. I liked that, because though I like coconut tea, I don’t want it taste fake or sweetened. This one has a lovely creamy coconut flavor with a nice background of ginger. The ginger has a bit more bite when the tea is hot, than when iced. I highly recommend this tea!
Preparation
Finally! Everything I’ve been looking for in a cinnamon tea! It smells spicy like a cinnamon bear candy, but it doesn’t have that burning bite. Instead it has a fantastic black tea base, with a good strong but not overwhelming cinnamon flavor. It’s sweet and as everyone else has mentioned, a bit of a bakery flavor. It takes milk and sugar well, but if want to stay away from sugar it has a natural light sweetness (not a flavored sweetness). This is one black tea that actually tastes as good or even better as it cools down! So happy to have found this tea!
Preparation
This is a very dark china black tea and is very smooth. It’s smells of berry’s and has wonderful undertone of bergamot. The flavors are very well balanced. It handles milk well and a bit of sugar brings out the berry flavors. I thought it tasted like strawberry, but the ingredients say raspberry. Either way, a very delicious tea!
Preparation
The bergamot is gentle – and the vanilla bean adds a lovely compliment and gentle sweetnets. The thing that most impressed me was that it was a wonderful high quality black tea base that stood up to the flavoring and was not overpowered.
Preparation
If you would enjoy a pear flavored Jolly Rancher melted into your Sencha tea, then you would enjoy this tea. However, though I love Sencha, this was not a tea I would ever drink again.
Preparation
I was entering new territory trying a roasted green tea! So I carefully studied the website before brewing my first cup. I wanted to get it right. I followed the instructions, adjusting the water temperature a bit for my own taste. I’ve never had a tea I only steeped for 45 seconds!
I took a sip, then another and another. I loved this tea!!!! It has a lovely nutty flavor – maybe a bit like chestnuts. When first brewed and still very hot, it still had a bit of the fragrance of tobacco and grass, but that quickly faded as the tea cooled. It also became sweeter and sweeter as it cooled! I have never tasted such a sweet tea that was not flavored to be sweet!
Preparation
I love this tea! The black tea is rich and smooth – and the addition of strawberry and lemon is unique. I drink this with milk and a bit of sugar. Can’t wait to buy more!
Preparation
No Jaime! I do not do sour!!! :-) It is a very gentle lemon – the strawberry is a little stronger, but what I love is that they are both background flavors to the tea. And I would never add milk to tea with real lemon in it – you’d get curds, but I can add milk to this tea and it’s delicious!
I hardly ever add milk to tea, so I’ve never gotten curds. This sounds delicious, even though I do do sour!! I’m looking for a replacement for Teavana’s Sour Cherry Serenade. Of course, the first tea that I try from them, I fall in love with, and they retire it two days after I tried it!
I originally bought this tea as a nice spiced iced tea, but as the weather wasn’t quite warm enough, I started brewing it hot. I love this tea so much I may have to buy more for summer! It is is a great tea blend – reminds me a lot of “Yorkshire Red”, but it has a great spicy flavor with the whole cloves and cardamom and the black pepper. It’s great black – with a nice spicy bite to it – it takes milk well and even a bit of sweetener if you want. An amazingly versatile tea! It’s only down fall is that the leaves are very tiny – again like the “Yorkshire Red” and so you need a good strainer for this loose leaf tea.
