687 Tasting Notes
Decided to open this one today. It smells fantastic. Like spices, and holiday baked goods. The closest in would probably be snickerdoodle or sugar cookie. Great blend of spices and sweetness in the flavour. One of my very favourite winter blends.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cookie, Creamy, Spices
From the English Favourites collection at the local shop. First brewed, I got a floral and citrus scent. It does also have rose petals. The citrus comes out mostly as mild lemon, and there is some orange flavour as well. Mostly tastes bright and sunny.
Flavors: Citrus, Floral, Lemon, Orange
This smells like something I would make. There is mostly a scent of cloves, and some apple. The flavour is more spice and almonds. Not sure I get much in the way of cake. Still nice for the weather here. Thanks to whomever sent me the sample.
Flavors: Almond, Apple, Clove, Spices
In the tea box from Phi. When I first brewed it, I got the scent of mint. The flavour is some creamy cocoa from the base, with mint, and hints of vanilla. Not something I’ve had before, but the flavours go well with the Golden Monkey.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Cream, Mint, Vanilla
Played the ‘Song of Teatime’, and got this tea. It smells like bergamot and a bit of red fruit. The flavour is citrus and notes of currant. Not what I was expecting, but still nicely fruity.
Thanks to Phi for this blend.
Flavors: Bergamot, Black Currant, Citrus, Red Fruits
Merry Snowmas! Picked this up from the Nob Hill local shop on Solstice. Turns out I already had some at home. Which is fine, since I like this as a Winter tea.
It smells a bit malty, with some notes of cocoa. Not really smoky once brewed. The flavour is really good dark chocolate, with mild fruit notes. Because I’m so festive, I’m having this while listening to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and reading “Hogfather” by Terry Pratchett.
Flavors: Cocoa, Dark Chocolate, Red Fruits
On the third day of Winter, I decided to have this tea. From the Phi tea box. Has a fantastic scent- caramel and nuts, with chocolate. Very much like those ‘turtle’ candies actually. The flavour is like caramel covered pecans. Really tastes like those candies.
Flavors: Candy, Caramel, Chocolate, Nuts, Pecan
Got a package from the Oolong Owl today. Decided I should have the oolong first. It smells a bit summery, like creamy peach, with some apple notes. The flavour is fruit and cream, and hints of nuts. Nice in my current weather.
Flavors: Apple, Apricot, Cream, Creamy, Fruity, Nuts, Peach
