From T2

A trio of white is a winning combination in this euphoric blend of white tea, cocoa pieces and white coconut. Deliciously creamy and serenely sweet, cocoa practically melts in the cup as it brews, collaborating joyfully with coconut in a tropical twist. It’s a match made in heaven.

Aw yeah, reaching into the back of the hoarder cupboard now! New goal: when I’ve got 25 teas or less, I’m doing my first ever Whispering Pines order. If that won’t stir me on to greatness, nothing will.

Dustin

25 teas?! That is quite a goal! How far away are you from that?

Memily

At least a year away, apparently. Oops!

Memily

(I’ve currently got 35 teas still in my cupboard with no notable purchases in the last year, at least. Sigh! GETTING CLOSE…)

Memily

Still not quite under 30, even. LMFAO.

TTB Review #20: Yum! I LOVE coconut so I already had a good feeling about this tea. I was not disappointed – the tea is sweet but not overly so, the coconut and cocoa go together nicely, and I could definitely see this as a dessert tea. I did find that it left somewhat of a bitter aftertaste which is why I’m not giving it a higher rating.

This has been languishing in my cupboard for a while, but now it’s getting colder I finally pulled it out. I don’t know why this one strikes me as a winter blend particularly, but it does. Some kind of association between white and snow maybe? Anyway – this is glorious! The main flavour is coconut, but it’s very natural-tasting and not at all soapy. There’s also a delicious hit of white chocolate; very creamy and decadent. The chocolate does make things a little oily, but fortunately there’s not too much impact on the texture.

I wasn’t sure about the white base to begin with, but in hindsight I actually think it works really well. It’s not as floral as I expected it to be, just sweet and subtle. The overall flavour reminds me a bit of those white Ferrero Rocher – are they called Raffaello, or something like that? Those. This tastes like those.

Delicious! I’ll happily drink lots more of this one.

Whilst pleasant this isn’t a tea that I would buy again. The coconut notes do come through and very light notes of chocolate which are pleasant but it is not a tea that I would rush to try again.

This wasn’t a very indulgent experience for me; it tasted like an average white tea with some coconut essence and left a slightly bitter aftertaste. I would rather have a good quality white tea with nothing added.

I tried a second cup with some milk added (even though I usually don’t add milk to white tea). This helped with the bitter aftertaste but overall it was like drinking weak coconut-flavoured tea.

Smells like dessert both in the bag and steeped! Rich and creamy, the coconut taste is quite prominent. I’m gonna take with it with milk next time.

T2 recommend “2 to 4 minutes at 90 degrees”.
I tend to like my teas strong, so I went for 4 minutes… and it was a bit too long, or perhaps the temperature was a bit too high. Either way, next time I’m going to reduce both slightly.

Had it straight as this one should be, but it could have done with a drop of milk – but that’s probably just because it brewed too long!

A little bit of sweetness, and a great nose on it.
Better after it’s cooled just a little, as this lets the flavours come through.

This smells amazing, both in the bag and steeped. Very creamy, chocolatey, and yes, definitely white chocolate… normally not my favorite, admittedly, but that’s another conversation. It tasted better cooled than hot, and I’m a bit surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Hm. Who sent this to me? I thought possibly OMGsrsly (but see no reviews from her of it), then I see VariaTEA has shared a bunch… or perhaps it’s from my colleague in Australia who sent me a box of Aussie tea about a year ago? I really need to start writing down people’s names and handles on my incoming swap bags. :) Thank you to whomever shared this though! I love it.

Sipdown (122)!

Hot in my timolino; I actually am really enjoying this one so thank you VariaTEA for sending me a sample of it – it’s very sweet and rich. Actually, it’s reminding me of DT’s Cookie Dough blend quite a bit. Strong coconut and chocolate notes; lighter nondescript nutty notes. Not really any distinct caramel notes to it – but maybe they’re hiding by just contributing to the overall sweetness.

But yeah; this is a good dessert white.

VariaTEA

Yay! I thought you’d enjoy it so I am glad you did. This came to me all the way from Australia courtesy of Memily :)

T2 do good work! So glad (though it’s probably dangerous for my pocketbook) to discover the Shoreditch shop do mail-order within the UK ;)
