From Lupicia

By adding the sweet caramel and almond essence, a sweet nostalgic aroma is created. Delicious both straight and with milk.

I’m sure I’ve had this before, I just didn’t write a note about it.

There’s a strong smell of almonds from the dry leaf. The caramel is secondary, but it’s there.

After steeping, the tea is chestnut colored and surprisingly clear for a caramel tea. It smells pretty much like the dry leaf, but more diffuse.

The flavor is really interesting. It isn’t strong, and it’s an almost exact balance between caramel and almond. It’s not sweet, but it is mellow and smooth.

I really like it.

After having Lupicia’s Milk Caramel tea and their Caramel and Rum tea, I find this one is just flat. The caramel is present but dense and not in a good way. I was hoping for a sweet, fluffy caramel but this is not all that sweet and certainly not fluffy. Plus, once again their base is too competitive with their flavoring making for a much heavier tea than one would expect. Its not horrible but this isn’t something I would care to have again. 204.

Dexter, thank you so much for sending me some of this to try! Oh, do I love this… And, I was a little worried that I was falling out of love with flavoured blacks… but then I have this, and it’s a big, “nope! you still love these types of teas, you silly girl!”
What is not to love when you’ve got caramel and almond?
The best part, too, is that this base is so easy going… never weird or bitter or strange (I’ve learned that I can be picky with the base of flavoured blacks).
Yeah… I need to get some of this at some point. :)

I’m moving away from flavored teas too – but I still need a few, I think I’m just more picky about them now. Lupicia is my current favorite flavored tea source. Happy that you liked this one.

Flavored teas usually leave a funny aftertaste for me, but this one is nice. Like I just ate a caramel cream pie.
