From DAVIDsTEA

To us, summer can only mean one thing: rosé in the sunshine. Sipping chilled wine on a picnic blanket? Bliss. This blush pink tisane lets you get your fix all day long. It’s a refreshingly fruity blend of apple, hibiscus, elderberries and currants, with a delicate sprinkling of blue mallow flower. And like its namesake vino, it’s the perfect balance of sweet and tart for all those golden, sunny afternoons. Cheers!

Ingredients: Apple, sultanas, hibiscus, elderberries, red currants, blue mallow flower, blueberries, black currants, artificial wine flavouring.

Price: $7.98 per 50g

Cold Brew!

Well, it looks like one souvenir I didn’t want to bring home from LA but ended up getting regardless is Covid-19. After initially feeling fine when I got home on Saturday I started to show some symptoms by Sunday evening and consequently I tested positive later that night. Not gonna lie, the last couple of days have sucked and I’ve been miserably sore, stuffy, and just cannot stop coughing.

However I have several things to be thankful for. For one, my sense of taste/smell doesn’t appear to be affected at all, which was one of my bigger personal fears about getting Covid since both are sooo very important to my job. But also, in the grand scheme, my symptoms are pretty mild – I’m sure at least in part because I’m vaccinated, but regardless I know I’m lucky for this to be the case.

Anyway; this is the first cold brew that I made upon getting back from the trip. It was very juicy with a simple grape juice kind of flavour and a playful tartness to the top notes. There just the faintest hint of a boozier flavour, but it’s light compared to the overall Welch’s style grape notes.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Feel better!

I hope you feel better soon! I also worry about losing my sense of taste/smell if/when I get COVID.

Get better soon! I am still avoiding it somehow, but I am sure I will get caught by it one day as well.

Hope you’re doing ok, Ros. Covid’s making a wave through my region of California right now.
