From DAVIDsTEA

The zen is mightier.

This deliciously delicate blend is inspired by the tea traditions of monks in rural China. The story goes that these monks had to beg for their tea each morning, receiving small gifts of whatever people had on hand. This resulted in an unusual medley of many different tea types – from delicate white teas to rich oolongs and everything in between. The result? An intriguing melange of flavours, known as a “monk’s blend.” And with floral jasmine pearls and velvety milk oolong, this luxurious blend is inspired by those classic mixes. Delicately perfumed and lightly creamy, it’s pure heaven in a cup.

Ingredients: White tea, milk oolong tea, jasmine green tea pearls, natural milk flavouring (derived from lactose).

The creaminess is very mild but present. while the floral notes are much stronger. A little bit grassy/woody.
Has a creamy mouth-feel as well, but is still very light and refreshing.

This tea is a smooth traditional taste. It is one of my go to tea’s. I miss it.

Slightly and intriguingly salty, which is probably what I liked the most about it. No wonder it’s currently unavailable!

Very light and creamy in taste. The jasmine green tea pearls are not a predominant flavour, I might add some Butterfly Jasmine to this one next time (also to preserve my dwindling stash). I find the milk oolong is the predominant flavour and smell, with the white tea sort of mellowing the entire experience.

I typically do not love oolong tea, so the first time I drank this I was pleasantly surprised at how the tea seemed to maintain its delicacy even with such a large amount of oolong in it. This is the perfect morning cup of tea for me in the warmer months, as I often can not stomach a bold black tea on hot mornings. I prefer this tea with a short steep time and low temperature water to maintain its delicacy, when it’s steeped over three minutes I’ve found the oolong flavour can become much too strong.

Having a pot of this since I need to finish it off, although there’s still enough left for a mug another time after this. This is like a mix of milk oolong and the floralness of jasmine tea. It makes a good blend, especially if one of those two is just too much for you. It’s light, but also creamy. It’s a good straight tea, but I’ll be fine when it’s gone.

So I went to DavidsTea for boxing day and when I saw that they had their “Spring Collection” box set on sale for half price I had to buy it. This is my favorite tea in the set. Unlike most of the teas at DavidsTea, this one has no artificial flavoring. There is a sweet, milky flavor from the oolong and a floral note from the green tea. I can already tell my 25g pouch isn’t going to last long. Too bad they discontinued it!

Seasonal teas are always limited edition. Sadly.

I really love milk oolong but sometimes find oolong too dark and astringent for me. I was pleased to find this blend mellowed it out perfectly, while maintaining the milk flavoring and not overpowering with jasmine. I was surprised by how much I liked the jasmine and milk together. I enjoy it straight as well as with just a tiny bit of sugar. I was also surprised to note how good it was cold—I left half a mug on the counter in the morning when I was rushing to work and found I liked it almost better when I got home that night because the flavors were more pronounced. I got this with my frequent steeper points and may have to use my next ones to get each of the components of this tea so I can mix it up again when I run out.

It’s like a more affordable blend of DAVIDsTEA’s Quangzhou Milk Oolong. The milk flavouring is most important to me, and it’s not smothered by the white and green tea flavours, so ultimately I’m satisfied. I even steeped my tea leaves twice and still enjoyed my second cup!

I really enjoyed this tea. It is a nice traditional tea when you don’t feel like having flavored tea-which is a strange occurrence for me. But I guess one does need a break from everything once in awhile lol

Very good mixtures of the pearls, oolong, and white. I wish it was a little cheaper but at this price it is still very worth it.

Recommend this one for sure!
