I tried this cold at my local DT with some sweetner. I really like it! When I was smelling the new teas the other day, I wasn’t expecting to like this. I’m not a huge berry fan unless I’m eating them. Otherwise, I find that it usually ends up way too sweet. As soon as I smelled this one though, I had to have it! It smells sooooo good. It’s not too berryish. It is well balanced. I think that the lemongrass in here really balances the tea because it tastes similar to a berry lemonade….it isn’t strictly berry.

With that being said, it is quite sweet. The first time I purchased this I had sweetner with it, but the second time I did not. It is still great without. The strength of it and the sweetness of it are perfect.

Although I have not yet purchased a stash of this, I probably will soon. It will be a great tea to drink iced this summer. Then I will have one to alternate with Magic Dragon!

I had this iced as a to go cup last night (unsweetened), and I must say… quite enjoyable. I think I’m becoming a little overwhelmed by berry teas – I love them, and I don’t want to sick of them, but I realised I have a lot of them in my collection already. Like a lot of my berry heavy teas, I’d be wary of trying this one hot, but I like the iced version – it reminded me of Redberry Tonic and Blue Lagoon, but was distinct enough (at least to me).

This tea reminds me of those super berry drinks. I can’t quite put a finger on which berries I’m tasting. As others have noticed, there’s no distinct lemongrass taste either, which is strange.

Meh, not sold on this one. It’s berry-fruity, a bit tangy from the hibiscus, and the lemongrass surprisingly doesn’t really add much of anything. I’m sure it would be quite refreshing as an iced tea, but hot? Not so much.

Blech, I didn’t care for it as a cold brew. Way too artificial.

Kittenna

I can definitely see that.

Fjellrev

Kudos to you for trying these fruit blends hot, especially ones with hibiscus. I stopped bothering a long time ago.

Kittenna

Kudos? Or stupidity…

Slightly disappointed with this tea. It does taste like Blue Lagoon from 2014. Lemongrass gives it an interesting taste. But still not as good as it smells

So this is actually a review of a 50-50 mix between Berry Refreshing and Forever Nuts. Last time I had Berry Refreshing I dunked a apple oat bar into it and was rather pleased with the result so I thought I’d give this a go. I’m putting it under Berry Refreshing because it’s my least favourite between the two and this will offer it some redemption (though I won’t alter my rating).

That being said, man was this a good combination! The Berry Refreshing adds a nice blueberry note that adds a little extra some to the Forever Nuts. Next comes the apple and oat flavours that I associate with Forever Nuts. The whole thing is like eating a warm berry-apple crisp. Very yummy. I suspect this is how I’ll be enjoying most of what I have left of Berry Refreshing. Finally, a way I can enjoy this tea!

Interesting combination!

Growing up, we used to make blackberry apple pie. I think I was looking for something similar. Rather pleased with the result!

With all of the interesting berries in here (black currants, aronia berries, blackberry flavouring) that this would be a little more interesting, but it’s not. It’s very artificial, like those disgusting sugar-free berry-flavoured waters, or certain kinds of artificial raspberry flavouring. I don’t even taste lemongrass in here despite the fact that there was a lot in the mix.

Luckily I only got 12g. I picked up a larger amount of Berry Poppins because it smelled more appealing in the store so let’s hope that won’t be a letdown. So far these new ones have been misses.

As a side note, I did try Melon Drop in the store and liked it, so I’m saving trying/reviewing the (hopefully) best ones for last.

Berry Poppins? You’ll have to add a spoonful of sugar. :D

Fjellrev

Hah that’s what I thought of when I first saw the name too! I’m sure it already includes one in there. :)

It tastes just like iced Queen of Tarts.. so hibiscus-y. Hot tho, its soon yummy and not-hibiscusy!!! its hard to explain.. mild but berry-y.. really nice soothing, hydrating blend. Cold steeping it right now.. hoping it will be less hibiscus-y that way!

Dry Leaf Nose: A very light and sweet berry aroma

Liquor: A pale lavender liquor

Flavour: A light berry note with lemongrass in the background. The blackberry leaf adds sweetness. The blend has a smooth mouth feel and lingers delicately on the palate, providing a refreshing flavour.
