From DAVIDsTEA

Some flavours are just made for each other. Pear and ginger are definitely two of them. The combo of sweet, delicate pear and warm, spicy ginger is more than the sum of its parts – especially in this perfectly balanced, organic white tea. With ginger, cinnamon, pear, apple and rosehips, it’s lightly spiced, lushly fruity and deliciously comforting. No wonder pear and ginger are so inseparable. They’re just so good together.

Really liked this one. The ginger is warming, which was quite welcome in my very cold office last week.

I picked up only 10g of this tea to try since it is an expensive one (cost almost 4$) Yikes! It has a wonderful aroma though and it tastes pretty good too. I enjoyed my cup but because of the high price of white teas, I only buy the ones that WOW me-this one didn’t.

Day 19 of tea!

Again, an old one I’ve never written a review for. Tsk tsk, self. I picked this one for the advent because of the ginger (one of my favourite tea flavours these days). Thanks to the pear (and possibly some other fruit influence?), the ginger was muted, but it worked for me. Spicy and sweet! I do wish there was more actual tea in the sample, though.

I have a cold…again :(.
This tea is one of my go to teas when I am sick. I tried it bare and I found it fairly enjoyable. The pear is sweet and the ginger adds that spice that makes a good combination. But where did the white tea go? I think there was only 2 leaves in the infuser. That’s an expensive price tag for a fruit tea.

When I am sick, I make a concoction of honey, lemon, and ginger root and add it to this tea. It tastes great and helps me feel better.

Exactly why I don’t drink white tea. Most of those teas are blended with inexpensive fruit to create a pricey blend. In my opinion, I’d rather stick with a herbal

Unfortunately for me, white tea is a favourite of mine. And DAVIDsTEA is notorious for white blends with little actual tea. $$$

I finished this off the other night… This time it had much more pear to it than ginger and if sweetened probably would’ve just tasted like pear juice. I probably won’t be picking up more of this.

[Edit] I took a break in my sipdown advent calendar because life got so hectic and now I don’t even know what day of sipdowns I’m at D:

This is a pretty good cold steep, tastes (unsurprisingly) like ginger and pear, with some apple and cinnamon in the background. It tastes like a fruit tisane though – there’s enough going on flavour-wise that I think the white tea is just drowned out. So, I’m not sure I’d buy it again, since there seems little point in paying extra for white tea in a blend if you can’t even taste it.

This is one of the first teas I ever purchased from David’s Tea. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this one yet! This was not only my first tea from DT, it was probably my first favorite from there as well. I used up some free tea points to buy it, so that made it even better! haha!

I didn’t realize how much I love ginger until I had this tea. It is super strong and spicy and wonderful! I have had this both cold and hot, but I definitely prefer it hot (cold isn’t bad though). The ginger is definitely the prominent flavour in this tea. The pear balances it out though. It helps in sweetening the ginger so that it isn’t super overpowering.

When I make this tea, I usually leave it steep for a VERY long time. I love when the ginger is VERY strong. If you are not into strong ginger, I would reccommend letting this steep for only a short period of time, especially because it is a white tea.

I love this tea and will totally repurchase when my stock is finished. Out of the ginger teas I’ve had from DT, this one is by far my favorite.

Just picked this up because I was looking for something with ginger that could reset my system after a period of eating very rich food. It is delightful! Unlike what David’s recommends, I found that 2 mins was more than sufficient steep time without bitterness. It also resteeps well, at least twice. I’m finding this very cleansing and enjoyable, and I’m not normally a fan of white tea.

Well this lives up to the name. First there’s ginger, then there’s pear. No real surprises here. I would like to see a bit of a stronger tea base; while there’s a hint of it at the end it’s really not a huge contender here. While in the past this might have been a bonus for me, I’ve been more looking towards straight(er) teas recently.

I think I’m about a month too early for this tea really. I suspect its warm/fruity notes will be welcome more in late September. Given that this was part of my “back to school” stock up before the summer steeper program at DAVIDs goes away, that’s probably rather appropriate. Still enjoyable, and I finally have a ginger tea.

To me this tastes like an apple cinnamon tea. I don’t get pear from this at all, which is what I was after when I picked this up. Slightly disappointing, though it’s not a bad tea.
