I sampled this in store the other day and liked it enough to buy, so here we are.
The dry leaf smells intensely caramel, with some spicy notes. There’s dried currants and chunks of bright orange carrot (which I’m guessing is there mostly for the colour).
Steeped, I smell pumpkin spices and an intense caramelized sweetness. It smells like autumn baking to me. On the palate, this is not as sweet as I expected it to be. The caramel and burnt sugar notes are still very strong, but not actually that sweet. There’s a nice amount of spice to this, a hint of bitterness and some pumpkin. I drank it straight, but I think it would be fab with milk and sugar too.
This is really nice, but I also feel like I have a lot of teas that are very similar to this. I will definitely finish what I have but I don’t know if it stands out enough to restock. Also, garam masala as an ingredient is hella vague, since that can be any number of different spices in combination.
