From DAVIDsTEA

Garden party

Is there anything prettier than a rose-scented tea? This classic blend is just as romantic as a bouquet of flowers – and a whole lot tastier, too. Rose Congou teas are traditionally made with black tea, but we love mixing rose petals and rosehips with the subtle grassiness of Chinese green tea. The result is deliciously floral and delicately fruity, like walking through an English garden after a spring rain. No umbrella required.

Ingredients: Green tea, rosehips, rose petals, natural flavouring*.

This was ok but not a favourite. The rose flavour is a bit too much for me.

A Tale of Tea

I just smelled this one yesterday and the roses are almost overpowering. I’ll have to try it before I judge it but I don’t know if I can handle that much garden smell…

I got this as a free sample with my last order. I’ll most likely order more of this one since it was quite enjoyable.

Thanks for this one, Stephanie! I used the entire sample which looked like two teaspoons. I was a little worried about these rosehips in this rosey blend but it actually resulted in a nice flavor overall. Plenty of rose! I like a lot of rose… there really is a lot here. It’s like potpourri. The green tea is very wirey and dark green. I was surprised the green tea didn’t stand out from the rose a little more, since it looked like a tough green tea. But the rose overpowered the green. But it was tasty overall. The second steep had the same deliciousness. David’s tea never really disappoints! I’m consistently surprised.

From CANTB

A very perfumed rose brew, with a subtle sweetness lurking behind a dominantly floral cup. The sweetness is kind of savory and vegetative, but isn’t necessarily instantly recognizable as tea — it does pair nicely with the rose, though.

It’s not quite as POW with the rose as other blends I’ve had, but it’s definitely not something I could recommend to someone who didn’t really like rose tea.

From The Traveling Tea Box

I love florals so this is a win. Its a nice hearty green with the rose as a dominant flavor. Nothing in it now but I will add some agave in the next cup. Should be good both ways.

This tea has an overwhelming floral aroma that almost makes me sick. the taste is also quite similar. It tastes well…. like flowers. It’s a little gross, not something I really like. I don’t mind a nice floral undertone, but here, it is the main flavor, and I’m not really enjoying it. Honestly, I’ve tasted worse teas. The nice neutral green tea flavor, helps this tea out a little bit, but it’s still too floral for my liking.

Apparently I don’t like floral teas – fruity and dessert for me I guess!

Got this as a sampler with my (40% off) tin of red velvet and I’d been wanting to try it so that worked out well for me. May have slightly oversteeped it as I got distracted talking to my boss but I don’t think that was the issue for me. Tasted like I imagine drinking soap would. Thought maybe sugar would help but nope, that made it worse. Sigh. Oh well, at least it was a free sampler. And now I know to avoid the floral ones.

I got this as a sample when I ordered some tea online. It’s a light green tea with a dominant floral flavouring. I really enjoy it and it’s nice to have when I’m in the mood for a green tea that’s a little less “grassy/earthy” tasting.
