30 Tasting Notes
It’s Butiki day and Stacy is 3 for 3!!! I had forgotten the description of this one but knew I would love drinking it when I saw the color, a lovely deep caramel and then a rich malty aroma hit me and that was all I needed. I knew that was a lovely assam base right way with other subtle and complex flavors, nutty, sweet with nothing poking out or dominating the flavor. I don’t get much coconut but that could also be the banana just blending in with it. I like it. There will be more. As I’ve said a million times before, I can never have too many delicious black teas. Never.
I was so excited to see the Butiki box in my mailbox this morning. I think I had an idea of what I thought a lemon macaroon would taste like but once I just began tasting the tea alone I realized that I really loved the lemon flavor. I also appreciate the floral notes with the lemon and where did that cake flavor come from. How do you do that ? Cake tea? It’s really good. I put a tiny bit of honey for sweetness and that’s about all it needs. I was conservative and ordered a small bag just to experience the tea but I want to re-order a bigger “staple-tea” size bag asap.
Oh awesome! I’ve been waiting to read a review of this one. Sounds GREAT :D
This is sold out for now but I will order as soon as it is restocked. Did you get Hello Sweetie as well? YUM!

So I managed to find a black tea, pu’erh blend after that last green. I really like the subtle peach flavor. It’s not like a cobbler, nothing doughy or vanilla-like but just peachy. A perfect hint of flavor for a black tea. Have to keep this one.

Maybe I should stick to blacks and pu’erhs in the morning. I’m just working my way through this enormous box and this highly vegetal green was next up. It’s a flash dried green..my least favorite..but good quality. Onto the next……

This is a pleasant dessert black tea. It’s fun to measure out and see tiny bits of candy and marshmallow. I expected it to be a bit sweeter without adding anything to it but the sweetness is mild. Not a future staple but a pleasant sip, anyway.
