29 Tasting Notes
Very tasty. The flavours are nice and strong, but it is definitely a sweet drink. Unfortunately I won’t be returning to Teavana so won’t get any more of this tasty treat. The tea I got to-go was awful (Chocolate Chai Latte, half sweet, may as well have been just cinnamon in a cup with some milk) and the sales person was beyond pushy, insisting that we needed to buy more that 50g since it was an herbal and therefore required 3 spoonfuls per cup and didn’t we want far more than just a measly 50g since it is on sale??? That kind of approach to sales turns me right off. I will take DavidsTea any day, where I am never overserved and always treated with respect.
Preparation
Grabbed a cup of this today when checking out all the new Winter wonderfulness. It is quite lovely. On the front a little bitter, but on the back it is nutella all the way and leaves you feeling like you just had a sip of a gourmet hot chocolate. Definitely thinking about purchasing some for home.
Um… just realized have been in DT every day since Saturday. Mostly by accident, normally we aren’t downtown that often but it just happened. And it also happens that the same 2 boys have been working as well… ah the shame. But they love it haha ;)
Tonight my cup is full of Checkmate. Lovely, absolutely lovely. It’s one of those teas that I’m not always in the mood for, but right now the coconutty black tea flavour is just htiting the right spot. It doesn’t quite taste like chocolate like the description would have you believe, but the chamomile flowers just lend a certain… tenderness to the flavour. I say again, lovely. Probably would be delicious as a latte.
Went down to David’s to check out the new spring line. Had to rein myself in before just going ahead and buying all the new shiny things! Got a cup of Copabanana since it is the only non-caffeinated one of the new bunch. I was a little wary because I’m not much of a banana flavour person, but this blend is absolutely delicious. The DT person told me to leave the bag in and she was right, the flavour has just been improving. I also have to say I took my first sip after 10 or so minutes and it was fantastic, so maybe don’t be too eager!
Had this to-go tonight, brand new tea! I really love the combination; the coconut makes it creamy and the ginger gives it a really nice bite. The only thing that I’m not a huge fan of is a certain dryness that I get on the tongue that I think might be the lemongrass, but overall pretty yummy.
Preparation
This is a lovely tea. I had it to-go today from David’s and the woman who served it to me recommended leaving it to steep as long as possible so I’ve just left the bag in. The flavours have blossomed over the last 15 minutes. It’s light like any white tea, with a creaminess from the coconut that blends with the mulberries perfectly. It’s actually very similar to my memory of Cookie Dough, which might just be the white tea talking, but they’re both light and creamy and just lovely to sit and sip. Yum.
