From DAVIDsTEA

She’s a peach.

If you order a cup of tea in the south, don’t expect a piping hot mug. Southern iced tea comes tall, sweet, and extra cold. And that’s just how this fruity black tea is best enjoyed. With big sweet pieces of peach, creamy yogurt drops, and sweet stevia leaf, it’s the perfect companion to a big bowl of peach cobbler on a warm September day. One sip and you’ll swear you’ve been transported to a porch swing in Georgia. Seersucker suit and panama hat not included.

This is pretty good but I don’t think it warrants a re-purchase. It took me a long time to understand that I’m not really a fan of peach flavours or scents. I love peaches so much that this seemed odd, but the peach teas I’ve had always seem to have a bit of a plasticy taste. This is less like that, and more enjoyable. It comes out nice and creamy thanks to the yogurt drops, and it smells divine. I didn’t really notice the suggestion of icing this so mine was hot.

Got a sample of this over the weekend from Awkward Soul (thanks!) over the weekend at our OC meetup! And I am resolving to do better about logging swaps so samples don’t disappear into oblivion. :P

I steeped this one hot, because I apparently don’t read directions. It was good though. In a word – peachy. I wasn’t expecting the yogurt chips to dissolve so much so it was a little surprising when I poured opaque tea. I have a bit of the sample left so I’m going to try it over ice next time

This tea keeps drifting in and out of our stash – we get some, we give it away, we get some more, we give some more away. I thought we were all out, until we started cleaning the living room and found a stash of a dozen or so teas. And lo, there was Southern Belle! This is another of those blends that bowls me over with the scent but doesn’t quite deliver. Even so, it’s a very pleasant sweet peachy tea that’s not too over the top in any way. I think I’ll keep it around this time.

I dont care what people say, my taste buds love this tea. I think you should try it regardless of how people criticise any tea in fact, because we all have different taste buds. For example, I love this tea, but it gets many negative opinions; while the Jumpy Monkey tea has so many positve opinions but maybe you should see my comment on it…
Anyways, this tea has such a nice sweet hint to it, and the peach scent and flavour is amazing. I dont mind the yogurt bits, but I usually eat them before they get into the tea bag :x

Was very disappointed with this one! I steeped according to directions and I just don’t know if it’s me or what. ……Actually I just went and read the package to see what was in it and I see now that it has Stevia leaf in it. That explains everything…. I mentioned before I am finding out, I am not a fan of Stevia. I think this is another I will pass on to my daughter and see what her take is. Here is another tea coming your way Amanda!

Really enjoying this one tonight. I have noticed on the David’s facebook page that some people are having issues with the yogurt drops curdling but I didn’t have that problem at all. Of course with that warning I made sure to stick to the middle of the recommended steeping time which is not normal for me with a black tea. Normally I leave the leaves in with a black.
I didn’t add any sugar or milk to it and it is wonderful. Lots of peach scent but not a lot of peach flavour. The yogurt flavour is right there though. Tastes great.

Edit… As it is cooling I am getting more peach flavour and less of the yogurt. When I first started this cup I wasn’t sure if I would rebuy but now I am thinking I will need to buy some more soon if it doesn’t become permanent.

This one’s a semi-sweet peach delight! The peach is just right, and certainly not overpowering and the yougurt adds a nice sweet touch to it. Quite happy with this one, I’ll most likely supplement my sample with a tin :). It’s like the Long Life Oolong but more relaxed and not as strong and overpowering. One of the ones that’ll be on my shelf constantly. Yummy!
EDIT: Definately got a tin! They also had a fresh arrival when I bought it and it’s just awesome. :)

I was ensnared by the beautiful description of this peach-flavoured black tea, but sadly I was disappointed.

After steeping for the recommended 4 minutes, the tea brewed up a murky.  medium rusty orange. The murkiness is due to the dissolved yogurt drops, and leaves a soap-scum type film at the top of the cup (and I use filtered water).

The taste is extremely mild, with only the slightest hint of peach, not nearly as lush as the description would suggest. I’m not a fan of the aftertaste the stevia imparts.

Also because of the yogurt “scum” I have to give my metal strainer & my pot a very thorough wash afterwards.

Definitely enjoying this one. I agree with the other commenters who have said it resembles one of the peach campino candies.

The yoghurt adds a wonderful creaminess to the tea, and of course the peach is prominent but doesn’t overwhelm any of the other flavour elements. I found that I didnt really need any sweetener at all necause of the stevia leaf. I had this one as a cup of tea at my local davids, and I think that while I did enjoy it – it will be a cup-by-cup purchase rather than a bag for home steeping.

I drank mine straight with no additions. The second steeping was also delicious, but because I left it sit too long I added some agave to balance out the slight acidity of the oversteeped tea.
