Tea of the Week for September 25, 2017!

I think I’ve only utilized mulberry in one other blend – and it was with a combination of berries so you didn’t really get much MULBERRY from that blend – well, this blend makes up for that! This blend packs a mulberry wallop!

I started with an organic Matcha infused Genmaicha blend and added lots of mulberries. Then I added some marshmallow root to add a touch of softness to the bright berry flavor. The marshmallow isn’t meant to be a strong profile here, just a little hint of something sweet and creamy to the very vibrant mulberry flavor.

Tasty!

organic ingredients: green teas, toasted rice, mulberries, marshmallow root & natural flavors

It’s been four months since I’ve practised yoga and, omg, it felt like taking the nicest hot bath in the universe. That’s probably a weird thing to say, but if you understood how stiff and dormant my muscles had become you’d understand. I need this in my life as a regular thing. Never going without it again.

Anyways, I thought I’d celebrate the occasion by drinking a new tea and writing a note, which is something else I was starting to neglect. I’m up to 92 teas, so the need to drink them up and send out some parcels is apparent.

Mulberry is an interesting combination with Genmaicha. It’s not my favourite 52teas genmaicha blend, and the flavouring is in a super subtle way. The mulberries add a hint of golden sweetness and emphasize the nutty rice notes in a low-key but rich fashion. I just wish there was a bit more to it (maybe coconut, idk- I miss DT’s Gold Rush).

Totally relate to the absence and presence of yoga in my life. This week, I begin a new yoga class with the teacher of my regular yoga instructor whom I adore. Yoga full stop has been on break for a whole month for the holidays and my body so misses it. I am both welcoming and dreading my first class back at the same time.

And yes, coconut sounds like a splendid possible addition to this mix!

I’m going to my first yoga class in months tonight as well!! I love it, and miss it… and gosh darn I’m going to go despite this darn flu bug I’m getting over (It’s been over a week now. I can’t stay home forever haha).

Interesting. I miss gold rush too!

I’ve been trying to find a place in Toronto that isn’t obscenely expensive, is welcoming and actually works for my schedule….

Indigobloom, hope you are on the mend and dispatch this thing speedily.

Sil, have you considered the Prana Passport to get an idea of what’s out there?

Indigobloom

ah well that never happened (yoga). Had to stay late at work. Bah. Thanks for the hope <3

This is last week’s Tea of the Week. Last night, I brewed up a pitcher of this tea to enjoy as an iced tea today.

This makes a yummy iced tea. I find that as a cold beverage, the toasted rice AND marshmallow notes emerge a bit more than I picked up on with the hot drink. The mulberry is there too – I get a tangy tart note and a lovely berry flavor along with that roasty-toasty flavor and the marshmallow.

I’m not sure if I prefer this as an iced tea or as a hot tea – it’s two different drinks depending upon how you decide to serve it.
