The first time I tried this, I used a lower water temperature than suggested, because 212 just seemed too high. I wasn’t very fond of the result. I guess they know what they’re doing. :) Now that I’ve used boiling water, I like it. Sweet floral flavor, and the aftertaste lasts a while. I usually like darker oolongs, so this still isn’t a favorite, but for a lighter oolong, it is good.

It’s interesting that a lighter oolong can take such a high temperature — our jin xuan is much more delicate, as it only takes about 185 F for it to brew correctly. I’ll have to try this! :)

I’m really loving this tea! The smell is amazing. Flavor – It’s smooth and sweet, and has a fruity/winey taste that I really love. It’s also got notes of cocoa (another favorite) and pastry.

I like this tea, but it’s not a favorite. It’s very savory. It’s not very complex, but is easy to drink and refreshing. I like it more now after it’s been sitting in my cup a while and isn’t warm anymore. I usually like to drink tea between meals (aside from the occasional breakfast tea with toast/muffin/pastry, or plain black served with dessert), but I’m thinking this would be good iced and served with lunch or dinner.

This Silver Needle has made me want to start trying more white teas. I haven’t tried a lot, but the ones I’ve had, I didn’t really care for. They seemed too light…not enough flavor. This one, I’m really liking though. I’m getting a lot of hay in scent and taste. It’s creamy and a little sweet. Something else, I think might be soy milk….it’s been a while since I’ve had any, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it reminds me of.

I think this may be my favorite green tea. The tea leaves smell so good, you want to eat one (I do anyways lol ), and once brewed the tea smells just as good. It tastes smooth and buttery. Nutty. A little toasted. A slightly sweet nectar taste. Will definitely be getting more of this.
