6768 Tasting Notes
This smells a little like Gunpowder but what I think is the oolong part is of the mix is REALLY dark leaf oolong. There maybe a tad of black tea in the mix but I am not completely sure. There is a bit of green tea as well. It ‘brews up’ a light brown and I can taste an oolong type taste and a little bit of green. It’s earthy – almost hippie-like. Fitting, I suppose because the Rainbow people are in my neck of the woods for about a month.
This is ok…not AWESOME or in my 90-100 percentile but decent!
Backlogging…
I did two infusions on this one…here are my findings…
1st infusion:
Tastes alittle cocoa-ish, rich-semi sugary. Perhaps Raisin-tasting like the raisins in a sugar cookie??? CRISP.
Very nice scent!
2nd Infusion…
sweet potatoes, maybe? Interesting taste, indeed! Maybe sweet potatoes with brown sugar. Still quite crips and sweet!
After the 2nd infusion cools for a few minutes I can taste a slight woodsy yet sweet taste at the end of the sip and into the after taste.
Very unique cuppa! That gets some points in my book!
Had an awful day…vet after vet issue for my almost 20 year old dog! Thoughts/Prayers appreciated everyone. Anyways, I finished up my large pitcher of this tonight and it was wonderful
I’ll be thinking of you and your dog today! My parents’ dog, which is the dog I grew up with during middle and high school, is 15 (quite old for a large breed) and has a lot of problems. I had a hard time leaving her the last time I visited home! My own 9 year old dog is going to the vet today, but thankfully just a check-up. {{{{T=B}}}}
Altho this was intensely flavored I found it to smell a little fake-ish. I decided to do a HUGE pitcher of iced and it was quite nice. There is just enough of the flavor in the tea to notice – not overpowering – and ideal for iced! I’ve tried this 4 times already and the first time I wanted to wait to rate but since then have found that I enjoy it. Perhaps it need to ‘breathe’ a bit…lol…
Drinking the last of my stash today and am going to see how many infusions I can get. The first infusion I overinfused a little and it’s still very good. It’s dark but sweet maybe a roasted sweet would be a better description…
I’ve been trying to figure out where everyone is getting this tea and I can’t seem to find it. Where did you get yours?
katers – Purchasing information can be found here: http://steepster.com/aug3zimm/posts/38501#comments (I made comments during the process of ordering mine so all the info should be there, if spaced out a bit.)
I’ve only had a few milk oolongs so far and I have liked them but at the same time they are all quite different.
This one tastes like almond milk or coconut milk, almost. Sweet but nutty and creamy.
The leaves really puff out so not much loose leaf is needed to infuse! This is screaming 2nd infusion so I might try it…
This is a neat smell and neat…VERY different…and I’d agree MIND BLOGGLING! But FUN!
LOL Boggling! Typo!!! However I could just say I meant to do it! Bloggling = a mind-boggling blogger??? Perhaps
Did someone call for a boggle? >:D (They’re a type of ghoul in Irish legend, by the way)
You certainly qualify as mind-bloggling. Maybe you’ve invented the next meme of the week.
Can smell Anise, Ginger, and Cinnamon…I’m afraid…
It’s herbally tasting but surprisingly pleasant. It’s actually quite good
I’m saying this based on my normal displeasure for such ingredients. BUT…this is ALRIGHT. I think the lemon peel cuts the other spice and herbal flavors so that’s good!
