This tea is quite forward. The dry leaves just say ever-so-matter-of-factly “hello. I’M Emerald Needle”. The leaves are strong and almost have a glazed finish. It’s savory and buttery and creamy. I even over infused and it’s still great. It’s a little sweet but I am thinking it wouldn’t have been sweet had I not over infused. It’s still a nice tasting cup!
I received a sample of this and I must say the aroma is marvy! This is perfection in the form of CHOCOLATE and rose and black tea prior to infusion. Post infusion it does lose a lot of the scent but it’s till identifiably chocolate and floral and a black tea – almost – but not quite pu-erh smelling. The Chocolate melts into the hot liquid making it semi-murky but it’s hard to tell there is that texture because it infuses so-so-so dark. The taste is great…black tea and chocolate with a hint of rose. Exactly what I was hoping for. This is VERY nicely done! I would certainly drink it again! And maybe even purchase larger quantities to have on hand!
Sounds like their China Seduction tea which does actually use pu’erh http://steepster.com/teas/design-a-tea/10892-china-seduction
I like this one a lot better than I thought I would. Eventho it has 4 floral type ingredients it’s not overly flower-like….you know bitter/floral…The Black tea and the green tea along with the flavors all make sense and make it very enjoyable! I think I would have this more than once in a blue moon. Nice!
This is gently scented Cranberry and Green Tea. The color post infusion is a light brownish-green color. It’s a little more cranberry tasting than green tea tasting but it’s a good pairing of flavors, too! It’s not overly strong in scent or taste but the taste is yummy. I like this one!
Almost anything I do reminds me of my Sammy so I am sure I will be talking about him a lot in my posts…just a heads up. (RIP Sammy)
Sammy loved to sniff my minty teas.
He knew that I LOVED minty teas. This one is ‘just right’. Not overly minty but still refreshing and yummy.
We dogsit a lot, and one of our little charges just got in BIG trouble with its master! First she tore open a bag of Vanilla Comoro, so they thought it was the vanilla and caramel scent that attracted her. (She is a ten week old English bulldog.) THEN a week later she pulled out some Irish Breakfast and Ceylon teas and ATE them! So I guess doggies love tea….I told them not to be too mad at her. She is ENGLISH, after all!
This is something I’ve heard about from dog owners who have purchased my tea – where they would leave the tea for a moment’s distraction, and the dog would eat it! I do not know if this is bad for the dog or not though. Dogs really seemed to like my chocolate rose romance tea. LOL
Well, I know dogs aren’t suppose to have chocolate – it’s deadly…so be careful with chocolate and dogs!
My Sammy never tried eating or drinking my tea or the leaves but he loved to sniff it. Our other Dog Suzie – I have caught her drinking the Strawberry Cream Rooibos from Wegman’s tho! LOL
We did catch the puppy drinking my tea once, and it wasn’t sweetened or anything! I think they just like the taste. And though I know they are not supposed to have chocolate, my neighbor’s dogs were left unattended for a little while and got on the counter and ate 3 dozen chocolate cookies she had just made. The recipe called for almost a pound of chocolate, and they were unharmed. My doggie stole my Godiva chocolates once. BAD DOG! :) My mom was a smoker, and her dog would get the cigarettes, tear the paper off, and chew the tobacco!
Rest In Peace…my darling Sammy…I miss you like crazy!
Yes, we had to bury our 19 year old Cockapoo Sammy on Wednesday Night…the hardest thing EVER. That’s why I have been MIA.
I’m still ‘not with it’ so I apologize in advance for my ’off tasting notes today.
As for this Cream from Adagio – I’m not really a fan. It smells like Coffee creamer before you put it in the coffee and it kind of tastes like that too…
Although I could probably finish the cup I wouldn’t buy for myself.
Family’s family, no matter what species. Praying that your day will be filled with comfort and lots of good memories.
Thanks…I have been balling all week because of his deteriorating condition – I’m really trying to remember that’s he’s healthy and at peace now and I will meet him again one day but it’s still VERY VERY VERY Hard!
I am soooo sorry to hear about your loss…I have 2 poodles now and I do not know what I would do w/o them…
I’m so sorry to hear about Sammy. Losing a pet is so hard…especially when you consider them your kids (like I do). Sending hugs your way!
I’m sorry. I know how hard this is. I’m so glad you had 19 years with your little one, even though that makes it all the harder.
LiberTEAs thank you so much for letting me sample this one!
This has your typical tropical scents but I’m smelling more of a cucumber aroma overtop and more in the forefront on this one. It’s very interesting and very refreshing to sniff.
All of the flavors ‘play nice’ with eachother and nothing is too overpowering. It’s nice island type taste and it’s pretty yummy. I’m drinking hot but think it would be good cold, too.
As it cools for a few I am smelling a little bit of a banana smell which scares me because I hate bananas but we will chalk it up at the blended tropics crossing paths or something. It doesn’t taste like banana – thank fully!
