Discovery Tea box – Tea #12
I believe this is another older 52Teas blend? Many older 52Teas blends in the teabox somehow. haha. This wasn’t bad but I shouldn’t really be judging older teas too much. A tropical green blend. I had it a few days ago, so it isn’t shiningly clear in my mind. None of the fruit flavors were very distinct, but at least the coconut wasn’t bad yet? I really don’t think older teas should be included in teaboxes, as they do have to be mailed around multiple times… I actually bought some new teas just for including in the teabox.

Whatever coconut is used by 52 Teas is awesome. I find it holds up quite well overtime. I have had teas where the coconut went rancid and its disgusting but thankfully these blends don’t seem to have that issue.
Also, I don’t mind older teas in a teabox so long as they are holding up. Some blends can taste almost as good as new even years after they are made and it gives people a chance to try something they might otherwise not have gotten the chance to try. Though if the flavor is extremely deteriorated, it probably shouldn’t be included, unless someone specifically requests it.
Yup to all that too. However, IMHO, teas added to a teabox or in a swap should be under two years old as a rule (unless permission from swap partner or teabox group indicates that people are cool with older teas of certain brands). Either way, this info should all be upfront so that people feel that the exchanges are fair.
