This tea smells amazing, but unfortunately that was the only enjoyable part of it for me. No matter how I steep it, the taste is bland and grassy, with a bitter after taste. It’s disappointing as I love other green teas from David’s.

This sample was graciously provided by TeaBento. This is the first time I’ve had unsmoked Lapsang, and I’m very much enjoying it! It’s a delicate black tea and reminds me of biscuits with honey. I’ve been happily sipping it while reading my book and it’s very soothing, with light honey and malty notes. A hint of earthiness rounds out the tea nicely.

Unsmoked lapsang! I might have to look at this one next time I make an order from there!

Smoked Lapsang is what got me into trying the unsmoked Zheng Shan Xiao Zhongs and now I cannot drink the smokey again. Consider yourself warned and proceed at your peril.

I have to admit, I’m a bit stumped that this tea isn’t rated higher. This is one of my go to daily teas. The rich honey scent gets me every time. The taste isn’t very complex, a semi- rich black tea with some chocolate and honey notes. But its consistent and never bitter. That’s what keeps this tea a regular on my shelf.

First of all, this tea smells amazing! Fresh oranges with a hint of carrot and ginger. The taste is crisp and light, oranges with no after taste. Although this tea is pleasant, I will admit I was hoping for a stronger flavor profile.

I prepared this tea as per the instructions on the bag and added a little bit of milk, no sugar. To me, it smells very true to its name with strong chocolate and coconut notes, along with just a hint of almond. The taste isn’t overly strong, mainly black tea with a hint of dark chocolate and a lingering coconut after taste. While I’m not head over heels in love with this tea, its flavor is pleasant and I could see myself drinking it on a semi regular basis.

This reminds me a lot of the Kanpe that David’s Tea sold a few years ago. Its bold and fruity, but easy to drink and not overly sweet. I’ll definitely be drinking this often!

Stash sipdown#1- I was really apprehensive to try this tea last year, all I could picture was potentially getting a big mouthful of salt. I love that I was oh so wrong about this tea. Its amazing. The smell when its steeping reminds me of Werthers original candies. It tastes like a regular black tea with light caramel notes, and just a hint of sweetness. I love that there isn’t any aftertaste. Personally, I wouldn’t consider it a dessert tea because it isn’t very sweet, but its a wonderful after dinner tea while I’m browsing Steepster or reading a good book in the bath.

I’m a 30 year old gal and I’m tea obsessed! :) I love discovering new teas and making my own blends.

I joined Steepster because I love reading the reviews here and I’d like to meet fellow tea drinkers.

I work a busy job and tea really keeps me going through the day!

Aside from tea, I do a lot of reading and writing.
