90 Tasting Notes
I bought this tea back in October to have a nice fall tea, and it certainly was! I never tried this tea without sweetener so I can’t give a true review of the tea plain. I prepared mine with a tsp. of caramel stirred in and whipped cream on top with sea salt and caramel drizzle. I know it sounds very rich, but it wasn’t bad. This is another tea I have as a dessert. Though I do like it, it’s not a must have in my cabinet.
I’m really in love with this tea when I have a sweet tooth that won’t leave me alone. I really only drink it then though. I make it with vanilla creamer and a scoop of german rock sugar and it tastes amazing!
I used to like this tea when I first started drinking it, but since I started drinking it the taste of it has become much more bitter for unknown reasons. Perhaps its how they make it? I can’t possibly be burning these leaves every time I make the tea, can I? I will not be putting this back in my tea chest….
Preparation
This tea was NOT what I was expecting. I was really, really hoping for more maple flavor in this tea. That aside, this is a tea I would smuggle into the theater (as the description says lol). I know I need sugar in this one though, it just wasn’t as sweet as I was expecting. The apple flavor in this one is very night though, it doesn’t taste fake and their is just a hint of cinnamon. The popcorn in this tea give it a nice roasted flavor, the next time I make it I might put toasted rice in the mix just to see if that sweetens it more.
Preparation
This was the sample I had in the shop, my first taste of DavidsTea. I was a Teavana only girl until now. I tasted this without any sweetener at all and was surprised at how naturally sweet it was. I was instantly hooked, I have always needed to sweeten my Teavana teas. I haven’t tired to make this myself yet, I might add a splash of milk :)
While on my splurge at DavidsTea the woman who assisted me gave me a sample of something that was a smash hit at a dinner party she had. It was this tea, and I understand why. She served me this in a sample cup with a splash of milk. It was like the perfect fruity dessert, it was unlike anything I ever tasted. I opted for 2oz because I have a boatload of fruit teas and also I was unsure of wether or not I could replicate what the saleswoman had made for me. I’ll update once I’ve tried to do it myself.
Update
I made this tea this morning with some sugar and enough milk to sink a small boat and it came out almost exactly like the way the lady made it in the store! Success! I’m having trouble just sipping this one….
Preparation
This is my favorite orange tea! I only really drink it iced (unless I mix it with some straight green tea). If made with rock sugar it tastes just like those candy oranges I got at the drugstore with Gram as a kid. I can’t rave enough about this tea so I’ll keep it short. This isn’t a tart tea, it’s a very mild blend. Whenever I make this as an iced tea it’s usually gone within the hour, and forget about getting any if my friends in my dorm want any; it lasts about 5 minutes.
I brew all of Teavanas teas with more tea than they suggest so I make 2tsp. per hot cup 3 1/2 for iced. If it’s a hot cup it goes in for 5-6 minutes iced cup goes in for 10 minutes or more depending on how many cups I need to make in my steeper and then poured over those refreeze able ice cubes you can get. It really preserves the flavor without watering down.
Preparation
This tea is liquid Vicks. I have congestion every morning when I’m home and the only way to open up my sinuses is to jump right in the shower, not even Vicks works in the morning. Lo and behold I drink a cup of this and I was opened up. If you aren’t a fan of minty tastes this tea isn’t for you; it has eucalyptus and peppermint. The orange is so subtle you almost can’t taste it but it’s what remains on the palate after you’ve swallowed the tea. The juniper gives it a slightly bitter kick, but it’s okay; I had to put just a bit of honey in this one.
I did 2tsp in boiling water for 7 minutes and it came out just the right potency for my liking (which is probably stronger than most haha!)
