I’m so exhausted wow. I slept at 4am because I just could not go to sleep for some reason! And I woke up at around 9 and didn’t eat, went to class, didn’t eat, went to class, left early for a special guest speaker and there they provided my first meal of the day.
Dang. Today was just to worst day ever. No energy at all ugh :/
But I decided to have some of this before I go to bed tonight. So exhausted so hopefully I’ll pass out right when I hit the pillow.

I actually had no idea how to brew this tea! It didn’t look like regular tea leaves. It looked like you’d mix it in water and it’d dissolve like hot coco. I read the tasting notes and saw that it clogged someone’s steeper, so I decided to just use my disposable filters.
It actually turned out really nice! VERY dark in colour and had a roasted, nearly burnt smell to it as it was steeping.
I’m honestly not a coffee drinker at all. The only coffee I enjoy is my Java Chip Frappuccino from Starbucks. Something with chocolate and highly sweetened haha. But this tea is nice! Totally not oversweet like the Java Chip, but a nice robust flavour to it. Definitely a unique tea! I’ve added just a bit of milk (maybe like 1oz) and a sprinkle of sugar to bring the flavours out more.

Hi! Was wondering if you’d like to swap some teas with me? I’m following you, but can’t send you a message unless you follow me back. Thanks! :)

oddree

Oh goodness, now I want a caramel Frappuccino so bad… Is that taboo to say on a social network for tea? :)

Sil

this is a wheat tea…so not really tea leaf. There’s a strawberry version too…and an original, but i like this one more than the original.

jump62359

QueenOfTarts I’m following you now! I’ll shoot you a message in a bit :)
oddree, naww it’s al good! Sometimes I finish a cup of tea then have this massive craving for Starbucks, so I kinda just… walk on over to Starbucks to satisfy my craving ahha
Sil, yeah, I’ve never had a wheat tea before so it was so foreign to me! Every time I go to Lupicia, I see these displayed in the back and I’m always curious. I like how they have the smelling tins, but every time I go, I always pick up the same teas. So this time, I decided to mix it up a bit and grab stuff I’ve never tried before :)

Sil

so jealous of your lupicia…

jump62359

I’ve been going to the same store for years but I kept getting the same teas over and over again cuz I was afraid to try something new.
Luckily the nearest Lupicia from where I live now is almost an hour away on the freeway so looks like I can spend money on more crucial things like FOOD hahah

Tried this last night hot and it was good!
I went ahead and weighed 4.5g of this and tossed it into my mason jar and let it cold brew in 12oz overnight!
Ahh SO GOOD COLB BREWED OKAY. Nice and sweet cucumber melon-y goodness :) And I don’t even have to sweeten it, which is a plus!

I’ve strained it into my timolino with a scoop of chia seeds and now I’m headed to class :)

Present from my parents :)

AHH I TOTALLY GOT DISTRACTED. THIS HAS BEEN STEEPING FOR FOREVER.
Ahh well. Okay so this tea was a tea that was on my list but for some reason I never got it when I was there two weeks ago? Lukcily my parents decided to go on a DAVIDs trip last week and they picked me up some of this :)
It smells sooooo good from the package okay. Like nice and bright and fruity and happy and smells like it’d make a really nice cold brew!
Didn’t smell it as it was steeping though because I was working on projects and papers and things.
But it’s been steeping for close to 20 minutes now (oops) and so happy it didn’t get bitter :) Herbal teas like never get bitter so that’s always a plus! It tastes nice and tart though. There’s a bite to it, something that I’ve never tasted before but IT’S GOOD. Hmm.. can’t quite put my finger on that flavour though.

Do you ever just stare at tea and look at how beautiful it is?
Yeah well I did that with this tea. The whole white hibiscus blossoms! They’re so pretty to look at! And the scent of the peach isn’t overbearing. Oh this tea is just great to look at and to smell okay
It’s honestly just dang gorgeous.

The peach shines through the jasmine and the hibiscus. I wouldn’t even have known there was jasmine in this if I didn’t read the label! Definitely bought this for the jasmine, but I don’t see or smell it in this blend, so I’m hoping that it’ll come out when I finally drink it.
WAIT WAIT. Yes, I do see the jasmine pearls! But the jasmine to other stuff proportion isn’t as large as I would have liked.
GUYS. IT SMELLS LIKE THE TROLLI PEACH-O’S!!! AND IT EVEN TASTES LIKE IT AS WELL!!
OH GOSH. I REALLY LIKE THIS TEA. IT TASTES LIKE CANDY AND BEAUTIFUL PEACH-O RINGS AND AHHHH SO SO SO GOOD.
but like.. I taste no jasmine at all :( Ahh well. I have like 4 other jasmine teas in my stash, if I want to taste the jasmine, I can just add more to this blend :)

It is a bit watered down for my taste, so I’ll just remember to overleaf a bit :)

I freakin love vanilla.
Kyra, what’s your secret ingredient? Why do all your cookies and cakes taste so good!?
Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret, my friends. I overdo it with the vanilla. Don’t believe me? Watch me as I bake things. You’ll see me accidentally grab the tablespoon, instead of the teaspoon measure. Oh whoops, I wasn’t looking. I accidentally poured too much and it already mixed in with the rest of the ingredients! Well, I can’t pull it back now.

So with that being said, vanilla is my FAVOURITE.
This tea, oh wee! The vanilla was fairly strong in this one! Not like sickening strong, but a good strong. Smells like pure vanilla which is great :) And the leaves opened up so nicely as it was steeping, and the vanilla still carried through!
Sipping, though, I taste more butter than vanilla :( Aww much sadness :( it’s a very nice cup! Silky smooth, but where’s the vanilla?

There are stevia sweeteners with vanilla and/or French vanilla that are totally awesome. They can improve the most awful teas. As you can tell, I love vanilla too.

Parents went to DAVIDs last week because they really liked the carry travel mug I bought for my sister, they wanted one of their own! So now every member of my family has a timolino :)

But when they were there, of course I asked for them to get me some tea! This was one of the like 5 or 7 teas they got me and I’m actually very excited! I smelled this in store two weeks ago, but didn’t pick it up because I was already walking away with about 15 teas.
But this one smells like a nice, minty and refreshingly fruity tea! This definitely smells like it would make an excellent cold brew, but I’m trying it hot for now.
Steeping, it’s taking on darker tones. Still smells refreshing, but not like burst-out-of-the-water-and-flip-your-hair-back refreshing, but more like… dude. I know this may not sound appetizing, but it definitely smells like that cucumber/honey-dew gum that I got at the end of the meal at one of my favourite japanese restaurants from when I was younger. It smells like it has that some sort of cleansing feeling ahha.
Oh this definitely tastes like the gum that I had from when I was a child. I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKE IT THOUGH. Mainly because it reminds me of something that I used to love. Like I can totally go back to the place, but that’s about an hour and a half away from home, and home is 7-8 hours away from uni where I’m at now sooo this tea will have to do.
Definitely a great tea though!
Has that weird gum taste that I associate it with, but it is refreshing and as cool as a cucumber
am v cool, aren’t I?

Tea that I had while finishing up the last 100 pages of Insurgent!
Literally just finished that book like 5 minutes ago and I’m already starting Allegiant :) It’s a good series. Definitely liked the first book more though.

Yeah. Guns and war and blood and death. Needed a bit of chamomile to calm myself a bit. Good tea to end the night with :)

(lazy lazy laaaazzyyy. Read previous tasting notes to like.. actually read the tasting notes part of it haha)

Had some of this this morning as well!
I had a fill 6 hour day today. Class from 1-3, 3-5 and 5-7 so I had some of the Irish Cream Matcha with lunch, and I made some of this and put it into my timolino.
It lasted me through the first two classes and THANK YOU MATCHA FOR CAFFEINE. Dude. If I didn’t have my matcha, then I have no idea how I would have made it through today.

I had this in vanilla almond milk and I definitely like it a whole lot more than regular milk. Sooo yeah. Definitely enjoyed my matcha that sat in my timolino for hours compared to the one that I made fresh for lunch.
This is definitely going to be a routine thing for tuesdays from now on hahha

Karel

ohhhh what kind of vanilla almond milk? is it the so delicious brand?

jump62359

Generic store brand because I’m a cheapo college student :)

Had some of this this morning. Reg milk, a sprinkle of sugar.
Dang. I choose vanilla almond milk over regular milk okay.
Soooo I think from now on, I’ll have my matcha with vanilla almond milk :))

Got this tea from shmiracles and it’s so cute and adorable!
It was a wee little sachet and it smells really nice. I don’t know what’s in it, but it’s 9pm so I need my herbals this late at night.

It tastes… roasted. Like roasted rice and fruits? Oh it’s weird. It smells like a roasted Throat Coat from Traditional Medicinals.
So Throat Coat plus a smidge of spearmint? It’s an odd blend, but decent.

Tea rating guide:
100-95: Best thing to ever touch my mouth and I want more. Restocking is a must
94-80: Love this tea. Restock if I can
79-70: Decent tea. Neither love nor hate.
69-60: I won’t be upset when it runs out. I’ll drink it but won’t restock.
59-30: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea and I’ll finish the cup.
29-10: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea. It may or may not have gone down the sink…
9-below: Let’s not even hide it. This definitely went down the drain.

I love tea.
I drink it.
I log it.
I have a good time.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

I first discovered my love for tea with jasmine teas because that’s all my mother would buy, so for the longest time, I thought that all teas were jasmine! And then in 4th grade, I watched the tea episode of Good Eats and that’s when the education started! I’d like to blame Alton Brown for starting this obsession because now I only like loose leaf tea.
It wasn’t until my second year of college that I actually expanded my tea taste buds. Special shout out to Cara McGee, Tea Queen for her Adagio Fandom blends. Because of Cara, I actually started drinking blacks, herbals and whites and pretty much everything else in between. I still have a special love for my jasmine though :)
I (try to) drink tea daily. Usually just straight up, no sugar or milk. This little obsession started young and just… kept going, I guess.

also I apologize in advance for lazy tasting notes and horrible grammar in everything I write. I was an avid fandom blogger on tumblr and tumblr talk can get in the way of everything kthxbai
