82 Tasting Notes
I’m adding my review here even though my tin just says Blood Orange Cinnamon and not labeled under Eat, Pray. love.
Decided to sample some bagged tea tonight and this was my second cup. I was really surprise by this tea. It was really tasty, smooth, perfect blend of orange and cinnamon. I personally would love more cinnamon in my cup but for those that love a good blend this has it. I’m not too into orange in my tea so I liked that it wasn’t overpowering.
I have 49 more bags in this tin so if anyone wants to swap let me know! Lol
The third tea I tried from the Downton series. I’m torn between this one and the Mrs. Patmore one being my favorite. This one has the nice black base again with a really flavorful fruitiness. I did get a bit of tartness which shouldn’t be hibiscus since it doesn’t list that as an ingredient. The tartness is smoothed out by the black base so it totally works.
Everyone really liked this Downton tea so we will probably run out of it at our tea.
We didn’t get to the daughters English rose tea. I’m sure that one will be nice … I’m just leary if the stevia in it since I didn’t like it in the pumpkin tea I had today. The other ladies tried the herbal Cora blend and thought it was ok. I did smell it and it smelled of lavender and chamomile, but since I didn’t taste it I’ll review it later.
Another Downton tea! All four of us tried this tea at the same time. We all agreed that it wasn’t our favorite. I actually loved the ginger in it, paired well with the food. I served pumpkin walnut scones, crackers with sundries tomato cheese, chicken and mushroom tartlet like things and finished with cream puffs.
What I disliked about this tea was the black base, which says its Assam. I’ve never been unhappy with an Assam before. Makes me wonder what black base/combination they used for the other two we tried because they were good!
So, I think I’ll share this one or try cold brewing it to use it up.
I spent the day with Downton Abbey! I’m in the process of planning a tea party for next May. We have our entertainment which is a vintage fashion show. It was perfect to pair with my idea for a Downton Abbey tea. The others hadn’t seen the show so I invited them over for a tea party and to watch an episode.
Two of us started off with this tea and two started with the Bates tea. This one was my favorite out of the three I tried. It has a nice smooth, flavorful black base with caramel and vanilla notes. I think I had about three cups of it! Lol
Since the Downton teas were a hit, I ordered a set for our party…could have about 100 people attend.
Ack! So I read the reviews before buying….but I like sweet so thought I’d be ok. I get a very nice spice smell with the dry leaf and after brewing. I don’t think it tastes like it smells though. My first sip was actually pretty nice! The more sips I took though the more I disliked it. I’m guessing the stevia is giving it a weird aftertaste.
Oh well, not a huge loss money wise so I’ll just pass this on to friends to try.
Hadn’t had this one in awhile so I pulled it out from the back of my cupboard. I was actually looking for the Citrus Lavender Sage but didn’t get that far. This just smells so good! I leafed it on the heavier side for a white but figured it could handle it.
This is nice, on the sweeter side so I don’t need to add sweetener. I think it’s been discontinued but I would definitely have purchased again!
Preparation
Just got this from the Harney free shipping deal. It’s a nice smooth fruity tea. I was actually expecting more of a tart cranberry flavor. It’s also suppose to have orange, but I didn’t get too much orange from my first cup.
Overall it was still pretty good, not being what I was expecting. Those that don’t like a tart cranberry would love this one.
It’ll be nice to bring this to Thanksgiving dinner, everyone should love it.
Picked this up while in Germany and finally had time to try it.
I don’t really get a lot of jasmine but I do love a strong jasmine so maybe that’s why I don’t get much of it.
I get a nice smooth black flavor, perfect for the morning. I do get a bit of the bergamot too. I’m glad it’s nice and subtle as it just adds to the black jasmine instead of overpowering it.
