Day 12 of Advent Calendar
I actually loved this one, which is a relief as I had a few disastrous samples in a row and had to take a tea break
I have fallen awfully behind on everything advent.
I wasn’t too excited to try this one as I am picky on mint and there are so many of them lately. It seems the blend of mint with blueberries is absolutely delicious. A favorite of the advent samplers, perhaps my favorite mint total
Preparation
This was Day 8 of the advent calendar
I wanted to try two teas in a day and was cursed. I sniff the bags when opening and it went through my mind that this one smelled slightly fishy.
It was either psychological or something, but after the first sips of this I kept getting a fishy undertone, got sick, and had to throw the whole thing out.
I am SOOOOO behind on advent and doing terribly. Many untasted from both, terribly behind, and also behind on logging.
This was day 15 – 7 Citrus Russian Blend
A bit light. Steeped 6 oz 5 minutes. Excited for description but too light. Dipped in a tinned cookie which went well :)
I added some sugar, and then some honey. I generally do not like honey but the lemon was coming out as it cooled and my throat was a bit sore. They do complement each other. It got better letting the bottom steep over 10 minutes of the mini tea pitcher and adding sweetener.
Preparation
Day 7 of Advent Calendar
This is a light green that blossom further with 4 or 5 minute steep. Very mild tea with a soft flower bouquet and type of sweetness. The color is light. Described as green tea and flowers with red fruit. If you like a milder, slightly sweet green tea, this is the cup for you.
Preparation
Backlogging – Advent by Palais des Thés Advent – Day 4
A mild smell dry, pleasant black tea when brewed with some non-tart and non-artificial strawberries. My unsophisticated mouth isn’t gathering up flowers at the same time, but they may be buried under their somewhere.
Nice and different, but nothing that stands out for me as memorable.
I did use this with my Christmas gingerbread onesie I finally get to pull out of the cupboard :)
Preparation
I love teas that can take abuse. This oolong begs for water just off the boil with a full five minute steep—plenty of time to referee a three-way cat battle royale among a trio of tiggers who all want to sleep on The Napping Blanket. And after all that beating, it provides you with a rich, nutty (cashews?), roasty cup. Nothing perfumey floral—just some light honey essence in it to sweeten the deal.
Perfect to watch the winner of the melee napping in a sunbeam on the corner of the bed.
