15082 Tasting Notes
I had a cup of this in celebration of Nina’s awards at the tea competition. They now have an online store, even if shipping is still a little wonky heh their customer service is great as always though :) and i’m happy to say, more japon is on it’s way to me now! wooo hoo!
so this tea SMELLS like sangria. One whiff and i was back in spain with 20 some odd drunk aussies, drinking sangria until 3am. lol brewing this up, i can see why some might not enjoy this, but i think this is one instance where David’s Tea actually came damn close to actual sangria. At least the kind that i’ve had in various places. I can’t say that i’ll want more than my two sil sized cups of this, but it was fun to try :)
Another of the samples i picked up from david’s this weekend. Again, not too shabby, though i’ll stick with the version i have from bayswater i think, even if it is a black tea, and a pain to restock lol. this would be good if i needed non caffeinated teas, but i don’t seem to suffer from being kept awake by caffeine in tea, so i’ll pass. it’s a creamy sort of tea and reminds me vaguely of creme brulee but not in an OMG i can’t believe this isn’t creme brulee sort of way! :)
Figured i need to start working on getting another round of sample sizes ready for me yo work through over the next month, so i’m trying to drink things that are close to being sipdowns but will take at least 2-3 more times drinking it. That includes the few teas i picked up from David’s this past weekend along with my iced pitcher. :)
This one isn’t too shabby. I don’t get a lot of “ROOIBOS” taste in this one, instead the vanilla comes across quite nicely. I think it might be fun to blend this with LB and cacao shells at some point just for funsies :) overall not a bad blend.
i think i finally figured out what it is that i dislike about this tea. It’s the nutty after taste. I love the maple flavour, though it could be even more present…and the base has a great taste to it..but the weird nutty flavour that it also present in this is what i don’t like. it’s like having nuts in brownines…ick. way to interupt the smooth deliciousness of the chocolate…or in this case, maple. i’ll enjoy the last few cups i have but this doesn’t need to be a reorder…which is ok with me since steam is lacking in the online storefront :(
best part about finishing up 109821309821039812 samples? i can drink any tea i want, whenever! and not feel guilty about it hahaha. I pulled this one out today since i was craving a cup of delicious pineapple goodness and i’m out of stacy’s pineapple oolong. While i also enjoy this one from lupicia, stacy’s version will be my go to version from now on. It’s just way more pineappl-y AND yay for pineapple chunks that i can eat!
i’ve been drinking this one in between my hot teas to keep the liquids coming today. I’m pretty sure i’m going to need to pick up more of this. It was the first tea that i put into my new iced pitcher that i picked up the other day and while its not the most amazing tea ever, it IS cherry snow cone – not too sweet and just flavourful enough for summer days when we’re biking and such and want something that’s not quite water but isn’t full of sugar. :)
So excited! But I’m not allowing myself an order for a week or two at least, considering I just did Butiki and TeaVivre. :P Is the shipping high to Canada?
no idea. I always ship to my tea mule when carts are not canada friendly lol
You have a tea mule? That is so useful. I wish that I had a tea mule :)
NofarS – if I had lots of money to fly back and forth, I would totally be your tea mule. That said, if there is ever an order you want to place that won’t deliver there, please feel free to use me to get it over to you. :)
