431 Tasting Notes
Just got my Box O’ Goodies from LiberTeas – Thanks so much!
So I started on this tea right away…mostly because I love caramel tea and well Gun’s and Roses. LOL. Boy, was this an awesome tea. I will have to get my very own tin and it shall be my “precious.” This tea has a deep, rich, velvety caramel flavor. I must admit I feel naughty drinking this, it tastes sinful. Nevertheless, it is wonderful and a must try. Thank you for sending me this tea.
Preparation
Looks like a 100 for this tea. I made it iced using my Bodem pitcher I got through Golden Moon Tea and here is what I did…
15 mins at 175 degree water
5 heaping tablespoons of tea
Filled the pitcher halfway to steep then filled it the rest of the way with cold water.
Amazing…delicious..Wowza…Fantastic and I didn’t use any additives.
Preparation
I only did it that way because I wanted a stronger more concentrated iced tea. I did 3 mins for a hot cup. :-)
What a pleasant surprise. I truly enjoyed drinking this one. It was smokey but it didn’t hurt my throat. It was as Goldielocks (Sp?) put it, just right. My 3 year old daughter had a few sips and enjoyed it. Although, she loves all tea. Well, that I know of at least. She hasn’t had as manny as I have. LOL :o)
Preparation
I like this tea. I am going to start with the…
Cons: A bit watery and not as earthy and rich as I would like.
Pros: Still has a great earthy flavor, a mellow sweetness, fabulous lingering taste after swallowing.
I am pretty sure I will buy this one and next time steep it longer. I know they said 2-3 mins but I think 3:30 will work for me.
Overall: Great tea and worth a try!
Preparation
Watery? The shu’s I’ve had have been so thick I could feel it lol:) But then again I do a high tea/water ratio (1:1).
BUT… I also do a quick rinse (15 sec) and short (20 sec) steeps. I was terrified that between the rinsing and short steeps I’d get a watery cup inspite of the large ratio, but I was definitely wrong.
Ahh well that makes sense but I think I may get nervous doing that. My luck I’ll do something wrong.
Actually I like making pu erh when I’m getting bogged down w/ life’s crap. Having to focus on a tea like pu erh requires makes me forget all the other issues in my life.
Not bad, it is a bit acidic for me and believe it or not a get a fruit vibe on this one. Nevertheless, a pretty good cup.
I am bumping up this a few points…as it cooled the floral side of this tea made itself known…beautiful. :-)
Preparation
I know what you mean but none the less worth a try. I felt the two were similar yet different enough to combine. Can’t explain it but you soon will see when you get it. I will say I liked it better cool.
I agree LiberTEAS, but that brings the same reason I rarely resteep blacks- I don’t like watery blacks. We’ll see. I’m planning on doing this w/ Japanese Sencha parameters anyway (since I still don’t know how to work w/ Chinese greens), so maybe I won’t be a ble to taste the black at all:)
What a great tea…it is a perfect start to the day. It is rich in flavors, it tasted medium to bold. I tasted the malt in this tea but I will say before it cooled off It tasted a little sour almost tangy. It threw me off a bit but after drinking it some more I really enjoyed it and will drink it again.
Preparation
Tonight I tried this with a touch of creamer and a dab or Almond Milk and a pinch of sweetener and I let it all steep together for a very long time. What I tasted was closer to maple syrup but still yummy! I was supposed to have Organic Honeybush Apple Tea by Leaf Spa but I decided on this. Honesty, I made it earlier today but I am certain I made it wrong so I I’ll try again tomorrow before reviewing.
Preparation
Wow this is a brilliant tea. It has a very pleasant undertone of honey and feels to be a medium on body based on the bold vs. light strength. Keeping in mind this is not a flavored tea the natural flavors almost make you think you are drinking something with additives. I can see this tea being a great tea to start the day. It makes me feel happy, corny but true. Now lets see if a biscotti will work with this tea.
Preparation
Ya know I have found myself in an interesting position today. For some reason I not only tried teas today that I am normally fond of but a couple actually surprised me. Take this tea. This is a very lemony tea but the peppermint makes it a bit spicy in a weird way but not actually bad. The peppermint sneaks up on the back end not taking away from the lemon flavor but rather gives it a little bite. I think I would like to try this cold. So lesson learned today don’t judge an entire teas group on a few bad experiences, keep trying them and you never know what you might find.
You’re very welcome! :)
It has become one of my faves!
How exactly would one procure a tin of this if one was so inclined? (not that I can afford it atm and I know that you stopped blending, but I can dream, can’t I?) ;)
@Rabs well, I don’t have tins at the moment (although I have contemplated getting another case to package up the rest of my supply) You can visit my artfire shop here: http://liberteas.artfire.com
Thanks so much! :)
you’re welcome!
LiberTeas Just bought your last one of these teas. So glad I knew about this one before it was to late.
Rachel: Thank you for the order, I do have some left, I just haven’t posted it all to my shop yet. Did you want a tin for this? If so, I am ordering the tins this Monday, but they won’t arrive until the following week, which would prolong the wait for the order. But if you don’t mind waiting, I will include the tin at no extra charge. If you’d rather just have the refill packaging, I will go ahead and mail that out on Monday.
I would be happy to wait…thank you!
Sure… OK. I will send yours in a tin. :)
