Hm. Weird tea. Got it as a sample in their Kickstarter campaign, and it’s…. better cold. A bit floral, juicy berry (can’t tell what exactly), and definitely hibiscus. There’s something in here though that’s giving me an allergic reaction, even though the ingredient list seems solid. I’ll pass off the last cup to someone else who might enjoy it more.

Had to try this again before sending off the last two teaspoons to folks who requested a taste. Yes, it’s just as good today… Chocolaty with no chocolate in it but more of a milk than the chocolate you get out of a Yunnan, if that mashes sense.

Purple puerh had me instantly intrigued as soon as I heard about it, however the tea making conditions in Europe left a lot to be desired, so I brought this back with me and am currently sipping it, cooled, on a blisteringly hot day in the Kootenays (BC, Canada).

It tastes very different cold than hot, although still pleasant. I get earthiness, almost a damp mossy earthiness, with a honeyed sweetness and then…. camomile? Huh? I’m positive it’s chamomile, as I only get this odd feeling in my throat when I drink chamomile tea (like all the cillia in my throat are at attention). Interesting.

Aha! Rarity was the one who gave this to me during our Edinburgh “meet for tea and swap tea” first ever, face-to-face visit. Yes! Thank you so much for your time and gracious sharing … I have so much tea here that I would’ve only had the opportunity to try because of you. Merci!

Got this ages ago as a gift from Stacey, am only trying it now as I threw it into a bag with a bunch of other samples to taste while traveling to see family. So…. not sure what the deal is with this, but it was just a meh for me. Nothing special, nothing amazing, no special flavors that popped… just tea. Really. A bit shocked to be honest.

This smells amazing, both in the bag and steeped. Very creamy, chocolatey, and yes, definitely white chocolate… normally not my favorite, admittedly, but that’s another conversation. It tasted better cooled than hot, and I’m a bit surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Hm. Who sent this to me? I thought possibly OMGsrsly (but see no reviews from her of it), then I see VariaTEA has shared a bunch… or perhaps it’s from my colleague in Australia who sent me a box of Aussie tea about a year ago? I really need to start writing down people’s names and handles on my incoming swap bags. :) Thank you to whomever shared this though! I love it.

Got this as a sample when I bought a huge box full of these New Zealander teas, and I wish I’d tried it when I got it! Smelled like rich, unsweetened chocolate out of the bag. Tastes more like a piece of chocolate that fell into the BBQ charcoal, minus the smokiness. A bit malty, too? Super complex straight tea that I’m curious about resteeping.

Grabbed this in Seattle, gosh, a year ago? Still love that it’s one of the few places I’ve visited the world over where I van buy tea in as small or as large quantities as I’d like. So in this cae, it wwas $0.59 worth, which ended up being about, uh, 4 tablespoons.

I’ve had this a few times, and it depends on the day how much I like it. Yesterday, I got peach without question but no ginger. Today I’m getting a ginger aftertaste, with a slight peachy flavor, mostly (decent quality) black tea.

I’m sure I’ve had this at least a few times in the past five months, but regardless, same experience as before. Oversteeped, it’s more lime than ginger, and I want the ginger, dammit! Mind you, people who don’t like ginger seem to pick it out well with this one, so maybe I’m just picky.

Wow. This is.. wow. I actually thought it was a black until I grabbed the bag to log it – it tastes surprisingly like a Yunnan. Really, really enjoyed it, and wish I had a bit more.

So… I can picture who I got this from, I’m just so horrible with handles…. please forgive me, lovely Canadian I had tea with in Edinburgh, and did this tea swap with! (I know your real name, just not going to say it here).

Packaged a bit up to send off yesterday, and wanted to try it (finally). Really, truly beautiful leaves, and smells absolutely divine. My crop seems to be more of a malty, rich, creamy batch than anything fruity – I discern zero fruit, but there are a lot of layers to this. Something to definitely savor and re-steep… which will have to wait, as I need to go send out some packages and then grab a plane.
