961 Tasting Notes
I own the re-blend of this tea (Spiced Nog) but the original had already sold out by the time I discovered Butiki. Thank you to lolainred for sharing a sample of this one! The green base tea is the perfect smooth, creamy accompaniment for the delicious eggnog flavor. This is the perfect way to enjoy a cup of eggnog without the calories!
Flavors: Creamy, Eggnog, Vanilla
Preparation
Thank you to lolainred for the introduction to a new-to-me tea company! This tea was quite lovely: a warm blend of spices well-balanced with sweet citrus and a hint of chocolate lingering in the background. It was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up today!
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cocoa, Ginger, Nutmeg, Orange Zest

I finally got to try the legendary Foxy Roxy today, thanks to lolainred. Nobody does banana tea like Stacy! This one isn’t quite as amazing as Banana Walnut Butterscotch, in my opinion, but it’s close! It tastes like a slice of banana bread fresh from the oven…rich banana flavor with a hint of nuttiness and just a little bit of sweetness. So yummy!
Flavors: Pastries, Sweet, Walnut
Preparation
Another amazing fruit/nut tea from Stacy…she does this type of flavor combo SO well! The raspberry is definitely the predominant flavor in this one, but I’m also picking up on the hazelnut. I don’t really notice the butterscotch; maybe that would come out more if I added sugar? Anyway, it’s a delicious tea and I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on an ounce of it. I’ll enjoy every last cup! Thanks, QueenofTarts!
Flavors: Hazelnut, Raspberry
Preparation
This tea does NOT taste like strawberry champagne…it tastes like a strawberry jelly-filled doughnut! The strawberry flavor is quite sweet and slightly artificial and there is a distinct pastry note to the aftertaste. It’s not at all what I was expecting, but it’s actually pretty good! Not sure this is something I would buy, but I’ll happily drink the 3 sachets I have left. Thank you to The Cookie Lady for the awesome swap package…I’ve been sampling the teas she sent me all week and I still have several left to try!
Flavors: Artificial, Pastries, Strawberry
Preparation
Another sample from The Cookie Lady! I’ve tried quite a lot from Tazo, but I don’t remember ever seeing this one before. (Maybe it’s discontinued?) Anyway, it’s lovely! I don’t notice the base tea at all, but the apricot flavor is spot-on. The vanilla is more subtle, but it definitely imparts a nice creamy mouth-feel to the blend. This is one of those teas that tastes like you added milk to it even though you didn’t. I would definitely drink this one again!
Flavors: Apricot, Creamy
Preparation
I haven’t had many flavored puerhs, but I’ve really enjoyed the other ones I’ve tried (RoT’s Coconut Puerh and Lupicia’s Chocolate Strawberry Puerh.) This one was okay, but I think it would have been better with a different base. I didn’t taste the cheesecake element at all, but the strawberry flavor definitely came through along with a hint of tartness that did remind me of rhubarb. However, the earthiness of the base seemed to throw the whole thing off-balance a bit. It was still a good tea, but definitely not the best that I’ve tried from Butiki. Thank you to The Cookie Lady for the sample!
Flavors: Earth, Rhubarb, Strawberry, Tart
Preparation
I was so excited to try this Butiki classic, thanks to The Cookie Lady! This is another winner: light and sweet with a lovely buttery vanilla flavor. As an added bonus, the dry leaf is GORGEOUS with lots of fluffy green leaves and colorful flower petals. One more reason to miss Butiki…
Flavors: Butter, Marshmallow, Sweet, Vanilla
Preparation
I wasn’t too enchanted with this one, since I didn’t discern any chocolate or caramel flavor in my cup…just lots of cinnamon and clove over a mediocre black base. Drinkable, but doesn’t live up to the name.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove
Preparation
Another sample from The Cookie Lady! This one reminded me a lot of Piccolo, except with a black tea base instead of rooibos. It has the same jammy fruit flavor mixed with honey. Quite nice (and probably even better with sweetener!) but not something I’ll be running out to buy, as I prefer more of a fresh fruit flavor in my fruity teas.
Flavors: Fruity, Honey, Jam
