2561 Tasting Notes
Finally getting around to trying the last tea I bought from tea-sipper this summer! I guess this one was sort of an impulse buy because the listed ingredient combo is not really the sort of thing I like. It tastes like a pretty plain, mild black, but there’s also a tingling from the spices. I can’t taste them, but I can feel them! I added some sugar and milk, and it tastes fine, but with all the awesome teas on my shelf, I’ll probably give this away to a family member rather than drink another cup.
Wow this is even better than I expected. It smells like blueberry muffins and tastes like them too! The cinammon definitely makes it taste like baked goods. I do add sugar, but honestly it tastes as satisfying as eating a dessert. Simpson & Vail are magical with their dessert flavors.
I wish this had more nuttiness. It mostly just tastes the same as Adagio’s caramel rooibos. I quite like the caramel rooibos, but I wanted this to be more true to its name. I find it amusing that Adagio automatically puts anything you order a 3 oz or larger size of into your “favorites” tab. Sometimes it just seems more cost effective to go with a larger size, but now these random teas I decided to try are forever “favorites”. I don’t use this tab anyway, so it doesn’t matter, it’s just funny to me.
This is the last tea from my swap with Cameron B. It’s been lovely trying everything! When I tried this one plain, it tasted, well plain. I don’t notice any flavor other than the taste of the mild black tea. It’s nice with some milk and sugar. I don’t mind a plain-tasting black tea, it’s just not what I was expecting.
Well I don’t know what goji tastes like, but based on this tea, maybe I’m not a goji fan…this just tastes super medicinal. It’s like grape medicine. Maybe I overleafed this, but the flavor is super strong and not that pleasant. I could still finish the cup, and maybe I’ll be able to finish the tin, but I won’t buy more. I’ll probably mix some mint into it next time.
I opened this tea a month ago, and as soon as I smelled it I was like nope, gotta wait until I’m actually sick for this one. So hurray (kind of?) that I finally get to try this. The smell of the dry leaf is definitely stronger than the steeped tea. There’s a mint flavor that cools your throat, but other than that, I don’t notice much other flavor. I prefer Throat Coat when I’m sick. This one doesn’t actually make my throat feel better.
Additional notes: I think I’ll switch my opinion to say that yes I would recommend this tea. When you add milk, sugar, and vanilla, it actually tastes like quite a nice dessert tea. It is a bit cakey and chocolatey. And you can rebrew the leaves for a second tasty cup. I’ve tried this a few times, and I like it a bit more each time. Plain, still nah, but with the right additions, this is nice.
Finally getting around to trying this tea from tea-sipper. It’s a pretty light earl grey. I always make my earl greys into lattes, and it’s well-suited to that. I think I prefer the black base to be a little bolder, but other than that, this is a solid cup.
I ended up with a tin of Paris sachets after my sister bought it and didn’t like it. I finished a four ounce tin of Decaf Paris in a shocking amount of time earlier this year, so I figured I could easily take care of her problem. Paris is good, but I won’t order it again. It has too much black currant for my liking. Fruity black teas just aren’t my thing. So this is tasty, but I’ll be going for decaf earl grey in the future. Best enjoyed as a latte!
Yeah, this tea was never as awesome as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy is, but what tea COULD be?
Very true!
One of my favorite book series. I have all five books in the trilogy on my shelf.
I actually never read the fifth one, but I have the set, so hopefully I have more time for reading this year!
I know how that goes. I’m a librarian and never have the time for more reading! Pitiful.
