2566 Tasting Notes
My sister got this blend for Christmas, and I just had to try it. It may be exactly the same, or at least very close to, the Angry Tea Room pumpkin pie rooibos I have. The appearance, flavor, and ingredients seem the same. So I’ll say basically the same thing I said for the other one. It’s a really awesome pumpkin spice tea. Add milk and sugar for the full effect. Clear and delicious spices. You can easily make a second brew with the same leaves. This one is a real hit.
Another one from the tea box! Not since my early days of loose tea have I really sought out chocolate teas, but if one comes my way, I’ll give it a try. With sugar and milk, this makes quite a nice treat. The chocolate is very present, and you can really taste the rooibos as well. It’s silly, but I still prefer the Stash chocolate teas over most loose ones I’ve tried. But this is definitely good for what it is!
Always fun to come across some Teavana out in the wild! This one is from the tea box. It’s pretty strongly perfumey both in scent and taste. The pear flavor is definitely there, but the flowery flavor is a little too strong for me. It’s kind of like squirting perfume in your mouth. It’s so strong. I don’t think I can finish this.
Made a pitcher of this tea I got from the tea box. I always have a bunch of different mint teas in my cabinet, so I can compare and say that this one is not as nice as some others. It’s a bit musty, but maybe it’s on the older side. It still makes a decent cold drink, but the flavors aren’t as clear and bright as many others.
My third tea from the tea box. I was very excited to try this one since I love pumpkin teas and I love S&V. The flavor is quite pleasant, but I’d say it tastes more like burnt caramel than exactly what it’s supposed to. I added some milk and sugar, and it’s tasty, but I would love some pumpkin flavor or something to distinguish it from several other teas I have of this variety.
My second tea from the tea box. This one smells and tastes like blueberry muffins, except they’re muffins with almost too many blueberries in them. It’s pretty tart, even with lots of sugar, but I still find it drinkable. I’m not sure which ingredient contributes the muffin-like flavor, or maybe that’s my imagination. So it’s a little too tart for me, but possibly combined with rooibos, this one would be a winner. I may try a second steep like that.
From the first sniff of this tea, I knew it had to be my first sample from the travelling tea box. It smells like strawberry candy! Some sips are mostly woody, but others taste like a strawberry milkshake! I wish the tea had a bit more flavoring in it, but I’m certainly enjoying my cup.
Thanks to Mastress Alita for this sample! I was surprised by how light the flavor is. The flavor is mostly white tea. It’s a bit flowery, and it’s quite pleasant, just not at all what I was expecting. The flavor gets much more pleasant as it cools. I prefer bolder flavors, so I won’t be ordering this one, but I’m happy to have tried it, and now I want to try a tea that’s more accurate to an actual cherry bakewell because that sounds delicious!
