The first time I had this, I added soy milk, and the flavor of the tea was completely overwhelmed, which was a shame. I had to wait forever until I had dairy milk in the fridge again to give it another try. There’s definitely something desserty and sweet about it. It doesn’t taste specifically like toffee, but I get where it’s going with that idea. It’s also mildly spiced – really too mild for me to consider it a chai. The flavor combination tasted good, but not very remarkable. I imagined a quite decadent flavor, and it didn’t live up to that. The rebrew tasted similar. I guess I wish the sweetness were more toffee-ish and the spices were stronger.
I remember this one being quite wonderful, but then, I tend to drink teas black, usually. Maybe that makes a difference here.
For some reason, black teas just feel like they need milk to me – just my preference!
Yep, I get that.
