2310 Tasting Notes
Sample from a TTB. I was going to add milk, but I tried it first without, and I’m glad I did. The vanilla is pretty authentic and nice. The base tea brings a bit of a toasty flavor to round it out. I enjoy how desserty this one turns out. I don’t usually like oolong, so I was surprised by all the negative reviews.
The pear flavor comes through so clearly – it’s really nice! This was best cold with milk. The pear has somewhat of a baked flavor, but is also sort of floral and fresh and complex. I was even more impressed with my second and third servings. It’s so expertly blended, and I’m sad it’s gone.
This has some of the alcohol flavor that I noticed the last time I had Florence. I taste some chocolate, but it’s not as strong as the alcohol. I only bought the sample size, so it wasn’t a problem to finish this one, but I don’t really recommend it.
This reminds me of DavidsTea’s caramel corn tea that I really enjoyed from a few years back, though not quite as good. The flavor is desserty, but in a more popcorn direction. It definitely shares features with a lot of other teas from DavidsTea, but I like it more than most of them. It’s nutty and desserty and really nice with some milk and sweetener. It’s a heavy blend, so my 2 oz only made four large mugs, but luckily the resteeps were delicious as well.
I’ve enjoyed a few decently hearty decaf teas from Churchill’s. The flavor here is milder than I’d prefer, but it’s still pleasant. I taste a bit of an EG direction, but it could be a whole lot bolder. The decaf black tea is a pretty nice base. I really don’t taste any of the herbs too strongly. So I’d say this tastes good, but none of the flavors are strong enough.
I unfortunately don’t like hojicha no matter how many blends I try it in. I love maple and pumpkin, but I couldn’t really taste them over the hojicha, which is always too toasty for my tastes. I just taste burnt flavor and a bit of something else, though I wouldn’t be able to guess what.
