377 Tasting Notes
Hmmm so this is what roasted Mate is like. Thank you brandy3392 for sending me this. My first and sigh my only specialTeas tea I will be able to try. Brewed some of this getting ready to head in to station. At first kinda has a roasted/cacoaish aroma. This is the base for some of my favorite morning blends. Smells nice. Tastes a bit like toasted almonds…maybe even a little musty like grandma’s attic. I like it though and will probably blend it with other teas.
Thanks to joecool for sending this to me in a swap. So I have smelled rose black tea at the market and was somewhat turned off by it, but I was keeping an open mind since I like my Pu-Erh. First of all I love the tin it came int to see the little Tuochas. So I’ve tried one other Tuocha. I got it at a place called Special Teas ect in Volant, Pa and liked it a lot!
So it’s smells a bit sweet in the paper like sugar in the raw. I used too big of a cup for the first steep. Second steep was dark like coffee…..this is how I like my Pu-Erh! Very smooth and earthy. Third steep more orange-ish. Tastes kinda like mushrooms but still pretty good.
First of all I’m geeking out because I got 4 tea swap packages in the mail today. Thank you kaybee for sending me this tea. I would say this is a perfect blend of black and lapsang. Reminds me of English Breakfast with a little bit of smokiness. I like this a lot!
So I have to admit that this is the first green rooibos that I have tasted. I’m hanging out at my favorite coffee shop while visiting my fiance. I’m enjoying it with a ham and gruyere pastry. This is very enjoyable. I like the body of this tea. I have to agree with TeaEqualsBliss this does taste like a V8 juice combination. I would purchase a tea of this.
Well now I feel that I am officially have graduated to another level of tea neediness as I am reviewing my centennial steep. This is one my favorites in my cupboard. I decided brew it differently than I normally do. Usually I just use my strainer but this morning I heated up the water and put the leaves into a sauce pan. I’m at my fiancé’s place so I don’t have my pot. I noticed with this brew the wonderful vegetal aroma. The liquor looked like honey and the flavor is very honey like. A very good star to the morning.
