From Taylors of Harrogate

At Yorkshire Tea they know that the best tea is about the best blend of leaves. And the finest blend they make is Yorkshire Gold. They choose teas from their three favourite origins and buy them from the top ten tea gardens in the world. Back home in Yorkshire, master blenders bring these luxury leaves together to make a rich, smooth and incredibly satisfying tea.

A stronger English Breakfast type tea. The teabags are a larger 3.1g size, (50% larger that typical US style string and tag bags 2.1 g. You can make a stronger tea with less teabags. Has a very malty taste, great as a replacement for coffee.

This is my go-to bagged tea for busy mornings at work. I add plenty of sugar and some cream to this, and I love the malty taste. Besides, it’s one of the only teas in my arsenal that can truly make me feel ‘awake’ despite the fact that I’m not a morning person.

Some mornings, you just need unleaded fuel. Expect no subtlety here; stiff, clout-you-over-the-head strong tea with a sharp little uptick at the end of the sip. Milk (almond milk) mellows it a bit, but doesn’t mask the strength. Recommended on icy 13-degree March mornings when you don’t-want-to-leave-your-flannel-sheet-cocoon.

I envy you people that can take a full on frontal assault first thing in the morning. I have to ease my way into the day. First cup has to be something lightly charged for me. I used to wake up at my office desk around 9am wondering how I got there. Then the caffeine pile driving second cup could begin.

This has become my favorite day to day tea. It smells almost florals, and brews up very clean and strong. I also like it with or without additives, without a bad cup however I make it. I’ve been letting friends try it and each get nearly as hooked, including my coffee loving brother!

this was one from VariaTEA and not a bad cup of tea for a bagged tea. it’s nothing i need to go find, but it’s not a bad cup of regular tea. :)

It’s one of my bagged standbys—a very easy steeper that you can neglect.

Its robust…its dark…its black (actually when its brewing, it looks blood-orange). I like it best with Milk and Sugar. Without milk, its flavor can be a bit overpowering.

I have also had PG Tips and Yorkshire Gold has a better flavor – its richer, its more complex.

I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and finally picked up a box from Cost Plus. I tried it this morning with breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice, robust blend that has a smooth finish. I’m a diehard Earl Grey gal, but this is a close second.

I like strong teas in the morning and early afternoon. That’s my favorite time for Yorkshire Gold tea. This tea is definitely strong and malty, even with a short infusion. The liquor is a pleasant golden brown color when steeped in the 2-3 minute range.
