A mate purist would probably not be happy with this blend. But I am not one of them (even though I do enjoy pure mate every now and then). I had forgotten how much i like this mate. It smells good, dry and wet. It tastes good. Though the fruitiness overpowers most of the mate flavor. I feel I can really taste the mate in the aftertaste. Also I’ve been steeping this forever but I think right around the 6 minute mark is perfect. Oh and one more thing, while it is good warm it is also good cold!

Amazing! Saved me during finals week in college this winter! Light, great flavor and a kick of caffeine.

Tried this yesterday in 70 degree weather and sun. Overall was an acceptable tea, but not one that I’d want on a hot day (mostly because of the aroma). It was a strong spicy cinnamon smell that would be so warming and full bodied on a cold, fall day but was rather strong and unappetizing in the heat.

The flavors were smooth and some spice, but not as strong as one would think from smelling it. Overall was a good experience, but not for the warmer months in my opinion

The first few sips of this tea took some getting used to. After that though, like other comments, the tea was quick smooth and lovely. The first steep I drank with no sweetener. It was quite woody from the mate, but it may have been from the 5 minute reccomended steep time.

I resteeped and added a bit of sweetener. It really didn’t need it, the second steep was very smooth but pretty weak. Either way, it did give me some energy and was quite tasty!

Spicy, not a lot of licorice taste, and full bodied. A nice morning cup. Wonderful to smell as well.

This is the last tea that I had to try from Mighty Leaf, and I was a little turned off by some of the ingredients listed on the box. I’m not a fan of licorice at all. But I went in with an open mind anyway, and was pleasantly surprised. As the tea was steeping, the aroma of cinnamon was most prevalent, and was extremely pleasing. The liquor looked almost green tea like. The taste was nothing like the original cinnamon smell surprisingly. The mint flavor dominated the tea, with hints of sweet flavor underneath it. Definitely the best herbal tea I’ve tried so far.

Tasty with a good kick of caffeine. Wish it had a tiny bit more “oomph”.

This tea was a gift from a friend, as I do not usually buy mate or tea with any of the following ingredients: rose petals, cloves, licorice, or pineapple. I could not drink it hot, since the overwhelming taste was of licorice. When I poured it over ice, the taste was sweet, but still tainted by the sweet bitterness caused by the licorice and rose petals. I think I may try to give this tea to one of my friends. The “whole-leaf pouch” is ridiculously adorable, though. It’s crocheted closed and the string is crocheted and attached to the paper. My other problem with this tea is that it is individually wrapped in plastic. Seems like a waste of materials.
