Smell was so good that I actually started to have hope for it. Heated the water, mixed it up and the smell was still up to par, then took a swig and the after taste was awful. It just tasted of chemicals and thats it.

I’ve only tried maybe one or two flavors of the flavored matcha from DT so this was a pleasant surprise! I used around 1 1/2 tsp for a small cup since I remembered that based on the other flavored matcha that I have tried it’s good to overleaf slightly.
First I tasted this without any add-ins and found it to be sweet but not overly so and it definitely has an orange flavor. I added a little heavy cream since I’m out of non-dairy milk to try and enhance the creamsicle. The cream helped a little bit but the orange flavor comes across a little chalky and reminds me of those Flintstone vitamins. I still have a bit leftover to try a cold cup of this one. Glad to have gotten the chance to try it as creamsicle teas always catch my eye and seem to be few and far between.

Earlier this week a bunch of returning fan favourite teas launched for the Spring as well as a couple of new and new(ish) teas – I love these big batches of returning teas, though it always feels so hectic during launch week, especially when I have to write tasting notes for a whole slew of new teas all at once. That said, I say “have to” even though I know no one is forcing me to – but I just feel this compulsion to and it would bug me more if I didn’t…

I could wax poetic about it for ages because I love it a lot – but ultimately I think describing the flavour is quite simple because it’s just so straight forward and spot on: it tastes like a Creamsicle. Very flavourful and sweet orange with a creamy finish. I love it hot and plain, but the sweet spot? Iced latte, baby! Sooo good!
