From DAVIDsTEA

When the temperature rises, keep your cool with exceptionally sweet & smooth creamsicle-like tea – think zesty orange notes & vanilla-rich flavour.
What makes it great

It’s also caffeine-free, which makes it a great options for kids.

Tastes even better over ice

With only 1 g of sugar per cup, it’s a great alternative for frozen desserts

Pineapple (pineapple, sugar, citric acid), Rooibos, Orange slices and peel, Rosehips, Sprinkles (sugar, corn starch, palm oil, soy lecithin, dextrin, confectioners’ glaze, natural and artificial flavour, carnauba wax), White chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, whey powder, lactose, soy lecithin, natural vanilla), Natural orange flavouring, Turmeric, Apple, Natural vanilla cream flavouring.

Tastes like the classic frozen desert with notes or orange & vanilla.

(DavidsTea 2022: 113)

Iced pitcher of this; it’s not bad despite being rooibos, but there’s a bit of an oily film on it that I don’t like. Flavour is fairly creamy orange with some woodiness from the rooibos.

Cold Brew Sipdown (244)

O is for…Orange Dreamsicle

I’ve had this cold brewed a couple times now. Mostly I gulped down the glass and never paid much attention because I only intended to write this note when I finished it. That implies I really enjoyed it but honestly I think I’ve just been plowing through it because it was caffeine free, cold brewed well, and I wanted to finish it.

Paying attention now I’m conflicted because it starts super orange forward and ends on a pretty accurate creamsicle/creamy vanilla+orange note. That sounds delightful expect the rooibos is so medicinal throughout that it almost seems like someone coated my creamsicle in EmergenC or some other orange medicine. So it had potential but lost me a bit.

Y’all, I don’t know what it is with 2021 but I’ve been having some rough luck with Nordic mugs so far…

Last week, for the first time in YEARS, I broke a Nordic mug – I just bumped it while it was on the counter and it fell off and shattered into a million piece. That sucked hard because it was an old style that’s not sold anymore. Well, I just topped it – I decided to make one last mug of tea for the night to drink while writing tasting notes and when I poured the water into the mug I heard a VERY loud pop followed by a massive gush of boiling water spilling onto my leg as it cracked completely down the side.

So, burn aside (because I’ll be fine/have burnt myself worse before), I’m pretty pissed because this Nordic was actually a gift from a coworker and was one of a kind. I’ve used it over a dozen times now, so I don’t know what the catalyst was for the crack tonight but it fucking blows.

I remade the mug of tea in a different cup, and the sweet orange and creamy vanilla notes are delicious – but they aren’t enough right now to overcome my bitterness at the loss of losing that mug. Like, at least the first one I broke this year I only had myself to blame. This time it just feels like fate was like “No. No nice mugs for you!”

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

I’m sorry to hear about your mug. Some teaware is irreplaceable and it’s extra sad when it breaks.

Veronica

Broken one of a kind mugs are equal parts sad and infuriating (at least to me!). Sorry that happened to you!

The broken things go in series. And then again, they work without flaws. Sad to hear about broken teaware though! Hopefully you will find some a good replacement.

Tiffany :)

That sucks about the mugs, it’s hard when something with sentimental value breaks! :(
